Job description

Role and Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design and project management of HVAC systems, including planning, organizing, and executing facility projects while maintaining close interaction with other Project Managers, clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
The essential roles and responsibilities are outlined below:
  • Travel to projects throughout the US (including the Hawaiian Islands) and Caribbean to perform project management services.
  • Determines project needs, constraints, and responsibilities to meet all the customer's requirements.
  • Collects data needed to assemble project scope.
  • Prepare MEP assessments highlighting project scope and estimated budget.
  • Coordinate project-specific engineering if required.
  • Develop scope of work and prepare a request for proposal (RFP) to bid out to contractors.
  • Develop replacement equipment specifications and prepare a request for quotation (RFQ) to bid out to vendors.
  • Prepare bid comparisons for both RFP & RFQs.
  • Prepare, and issues purchase orders for equipment.
  • Prepare and administer project contracts and sub-contracts.
  • Collect certificates of insurance and lien waivers and other support documentation.
  • Coordinate and maintain the project schedule.
  • Review and approve project invoices.
  • Visit projects throughout construction at major milestones and prepare a site visit report for each visit.
  • Provide complete closeout documentation and warranty coverage for each project.
  • Document work by maintaining files for each job�track projects in MSS online database.
  • Prepare billing for assigned projects on a monthly basis.
  • Other such duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Company from time to time.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
Possess a degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of experience OR 10+ years of experience in a combination of commercial/industrial design and project management, to include:
  • Chilled water systems.
  • Boilers.
  • Domestic water systems.
  • Package, VAV, and split systems.
  • Exhaust and makeup air.

Preferred Skills
  • Professional Engineering license
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Ability to interact with customers, high energy level, professionalism.
  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office related products.
  • LEED Accreditation
  • CEM certification

Key Requirements:
  • Regular and supervisory probation period required, if applicable.
  • Random drug testing is required.
  • Appointment to this position may require a background investigation.
  • A clean driving record is required.
  • Charlotte, NC based or remote location near a major airport (Phoenix, AZ or Salt Lake City, UT preferred).
  • 50% travel required.
  • Must successfully pass a background check.
