The Applications Engineer serves as a key role within Product Engineering, responsible for supporting the delivery of application solutions across multiple systems, platforms, and workflows. This role consolidates responsibilities traditionally performed by specialized application roles into a unified engineering function, enabling consistent and coordinated solution delivery. The Applications Engineer is responsible for configuring, integrating, and supporting application solutions, while contributing to implementation, optimization, and ongoing operational support activities. The role works across multiple applications and integrations, supporting the execution of work aligned to product backlogs and organizational priorities. Through the application of technical knowledge, analytical skills, and established standards, the Applications Engineer supports effective collaboration across teams, promotes consistency in delivery, and contributes to the reliability and performance of application solutions, while developing broader technical capabilities and supporting delivery across systems and workflows.

  • Designs, configures, and supports application solutions across multiple systems, modules, and workflows, contributing to end-to-end product delivery.
  • Translates business requirements into functional and technical solutions, ensuring alignment with product backlog priorities and operational needs.
  • Performs system configuration, build, and integration activities, including interfaces and data exchange between applications.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves application and interface issues, working with technical teams, vendors, and stakeholders to drive resolution.
  • Supports testing activities, including development of test scenarios, execution of test scripts, and validation of system functionality for implementations and upgrades.
  • Participates in implementation and upgrade efforts, including environment readiness, validation, and post-deployment support.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product teams, technical engineers, and business stakeholders, to deliver solutions aligned to organizational priorities.
  • Contributes to documentation, including functional specifications, knowledge base articles, and standard operating procedures.
  • Analyzes application workflows and system usage to identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5-7 years of experience in application support, application analysis, or related IT roles
  • Demonstrated experience with application configuration, system workflows, and supporting business processes
  • Experience troubleshooting application issues and supporting resolution across systems and teams
  • Working knowledge of system integrations, interfaces, and data flow between applications
  • Experience supporting testing activities, including test scenario development and execution
  • Experience participating in system implementations, upgrades, or enhancement efforts
  • Ability to translate business requirements into functional and technical solutions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to manage moderately complex issues
  • Ability to work across multiple applications, systems, or functional areas
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with technical teams, business stakeholders, and vendors
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment
