Job description

Job Title: Network Engineer - Palo Alto NGFW SME (Migration & Infrastructure) Location: Princeton, NJ Type: Contract -Hybrid(onsite and remote)

Responsibilities

  • Lead the migration to PA-7500 chassis (HA clustering) managed via Panorama (M-700).
  • Perform technical remediation of security objects, including tags, services, and address groups, especially in complex configurations.
  • Support phased hardware refresh and firewall modernization efforts in a large-scale enterprise environment.
  • Guide internal teams with SME-level expertise, providing leadership and knowledge transfer.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Contribute to microsegmentation strategies and initiatives such as secure guest Wi-Fi deployments.
  • Support onboarding of SCM (Strata Cloud Manager) and SLS as part of environment enhancements.
  • Troubleshoot physical layer issues, including SFP connectivity, in a large, high-impact network environment.

Requirements:

  • Expert-level experience with Palo Alto Networks NGFW platforms, especially PA-5200 / PA-5400 / PA-7500 series firewalls.
  • Proven hands-on experience with Panorama (M-700).
  • Strong networking background with BGP routing protocols.
  • Experience working in large-scale environments with 200+ firewalls.
  • Ability to troubleshoot physical layer connectivity issues, including SFPs.
  • Exposure to Juniper-based network environments, including routers and switches.
  • Experience with SCM (Strata Cloud Manager) and SLS (preferred).
  • Ability to lead complex security configuration remediation projects.
