Senior Network Engineer for CONUS

  • Responsibilities: Supports the DoD medical mission, addresses complex infrastructure requirements, resolves complex LAN/WLAN/WAN issues, provides high-level installation, configuration, documentation, management, and troubleshooting for all DHA networked facilities. Serves as the premier Network Specialist and global point of contact for network issues. Advises government staff, leads Network Specialists, and interfaces with internal/external organizations. Uses tools like Orion SolarWinds, ARMIS, and Ansible. Responsible for LAN/WLAN/WAN security, including firewalls, VPNs, and IDSs. Provides recommendations, studies vendor products, establishes standards, and communicates with key customers. Must resolve technical issues at all OSI model levels and contribute to policy and procedure development.
  • Qualifications: DoD Directive 8570.01 compliance; IAM Level III or equivalent certification required.
  • Experience: Mastery of networking protocols/technologies (TCP/IP, HTTP, SNMP, DNS, DHCP, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, etc.), communications standards (802.1d, 802.1q, etc.), and experience with various network media and diagnostic tools. Mastery in routed, switched, and shared LAN environments.
  • Education: Bachelor's in Computer Sciences, Engineering, or related field and 5 years' experience; or technical/vocational school and 10 years' experience.
  • Other Skills: Experience with DoD Health Care Information Systems, Windows networks, Cisco, SolarWinds, Zero Trust, CCNP, CISSP required.
  • Background: SECRET security clearance required.
  • Communication: Must communicate effectively with a broad audience, both verbally and in writing.
