The Remote Security Technical Writer role, like many cybersecurity careers, values skills and experience over age. Age is generally not a barrier to entering or advancing in cybersecurity fields.

Can you make $500,000 a year in cyber security?

Remote security technical writers typically do not earn $500,000 annually, as this is a high salary level usually associated with senior executive roles or highly specialized positions in cybersecurity. Most cybersecurity professionals, including technical writers with advanced skills and certifications, earn significantly less, though top-tier experts in niche areas or with extensive experience can reach high six-figure incomes. Achieving such a salary generally requires a combination of advanced expertise, leadership roles, or consulting work beyond standard technical writing positions.
