Job Summary:

The Identity Security Engineer, Identity platform (Ping) at Equinix is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting authentication, authorization, SSO, and multi-factor authentication services. This role works within a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and architects, partnering with business teams to deliver secure, scalable identity solutions.

Success in this role is centered on translating business requirements into technical designs and implementing resilient authentication solutions with minimal disruption. The role also extends to modern identity challenges, including non-human identities (NHIs), AI/agent authentication, and automation-driven identity architectures.

The Role will:

  • Design, implement, and support SSO, federation, and MFA solutions using Ping suite of products
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) across Ping Identity capabilities and IAM domains
  • Drive adoption of authentication and authorization reference architectures for modern and emerging technologies
  • Develop scalable solutions aligned with Zero Trust principles and enterprise IAM standards
  • Integrate applications (legacy and modern) into SSO, ensuring secure onboarding and adherence to IAM best practices
  • Troubleshoot complex authentication, federation, and identity-related issues across systems
  • Implement and support machine-to-machine authentication (OAuth2 client credentials, API security)
  • Contribute to automation-first identity workflows leveraging APIs and event-driven integrations
  • Support identity architecture evolution, including AI agents and non-human identity governance

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Strong hands-on experience implementing and supporting Ping (PingFederate, PingID, PingProtect, PingVerify, Davinci, Authorize)
  • Deep understanding of SSO, federation, MFA, and directory services
  • Experience with OAuth2, OpenID Connect, SAML, SCIM and token-based authentication
  • Experience with PingOne DaVinci to design and build identity orchestration workflows that simplify and streamline user experiences
  • Familiarity with AI gateway concepts, centralized enforcement of authentication, authorization, rate limiting, and policy controls for LLM and agent traffic
  • Ability to design and enforce scoped, least-privilege authorization for MCP servers, ensuring agents operate within defined permission boundaries
  • Experience with API security and integration patterns (REST, JSON, Postman)
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an analytical mindset and attention to detail
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Self-driven, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Modern Identity / AI Skills:  Experience managing non-human identities (service accounts, APIs, bots, AI agents)
  • Understanding of AI/ML use cases in identity security (risk-based authentication, anomaly detection)
  • Familiarity with identity patterns for AI agents and application-to-application authentication
  • Knowledge of Zero Trust and Just-in-Time (JIT) access models
  • Awareness of AI security risks (e.g., token misuse, data exposure, agent over-privilege)

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience architecting and implementing IAM solutions, with strong expertise in Ping stack (preferred)
  • In-depth experience with IAM protocols: SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect, SCIM
  • Strong experience with SSO, Federation, authentication, and authorization architectures
  • Experience with other IAM platforms (e.g., Okta, SailPoint) is a plus
  • Broad knowledge of enterprise IT across cloud, network, systems, and identity infrastructure
  • Security certifications (e.g., CISSP) are a plus

The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:

United States - Dallas Infomart Office DAI : 136,000 - 204,000 USD / Annual

Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.

The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
