Position Overview

Whitecap Resources is seeking an experienced Application Support Specialist to support and enhance a portfolio of engineering and business applications used across the organization. This role serves as the primary technical and functional resource for critical engineering systems including Mosaic, Quorum Execute, Computer Modelling Group (CMG) applications, and Microsoft SharePoint.
Working closely with Engineering, Geoscience, and Business Systems teams, the successful candidate will ensure applications are reliable, secure, integrated, and positioned to meet evolving business needs. This position combines application administration, user support, vendor coordination, system integration, and continuous improvement responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Application Portfolio Support

  • Serve as the primary support resource for engineering applications including Mosaic, Quorum Execute, CMG, and related technical systems.

  • Provide Tier 2/3 support for application, data, process, and user-related issues.

  • Troubleshoot application performance issues and work with vendors and infrastructure teams to resolve complex problems.

  • Coordinate and execute application upgrades, patches, testing, and deployments.

  • Maintain system configurations and ensure application environmentsremainstable and supported.

  • Act as a liaison between business users, vendors, and technical teams to resolve issues and deliver enhancements.

Application Lifecycle & Continuous Improvement

  • Own the operational lifecycle of assigned applications from implementation through ongoing support and retirement.

  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to application functionality, integrations, and business processes.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements andidentifyopportunities to increase efficiency and user adoption.

  • Develop andmaintainapplication documentation, support procedures, andknowledgearticles.

  • Support software licensing, budgeting, and vendor management activities.

SharePoint Administration & Collaboration

  • Assistin the design of departmental SharePoint sites, document libraries, permissions, and content structures.

  • Promoteadoptionof Microsoft 365 collaboration tools and best practices.

Virtualized Application Delivery

  • Support applications delivered through Remote Desktop Services (RDS), Citrix, or other virtualized environments.

  • Troubleshoot access, performance, and user experience issues in coordination with infrastructure teams.

  • Assistin ensuring reliable and secure application delivery across the organization.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 7+ years of experience supporting enterprise business or engineering applications.

  • Experience supporting upstream oil and gas applications and workflows.

  • Hands-on experience with Mosaic, Quorum Execute, CMG, or other petroleum engineering or reservoir management applications.

  • Experience administering application security, licensing, configurations, and user access.

  • Experience supporting application upgrades, implementations, and vendor relationships.

  • Experience supporting SharePoint Online or SharePoint-based collaboration solutions.

  • Experience supporting applications in RDS, Citrix, or similar virtualized environments.
