Job description

Military Space Communications Sr. Requirements & Capabilities Manager

Collins Aerospace has a current opening for a Military Space Communications Sr. Requirements & Capabilities Manager responsible for establishing and maintaining strong/strategic relationships with domestic/international military customers, analyzing the evolving space domain to identify and pursue high-value business cases that fill the pipeline, and communicating associated customer most important requirements to engineering/production teams while ensuring team whitepapers/proposals carry compelling messaging.

In a team management environment, this position will be responsible for major input to the direction of Collins Space programs and product development/planning to ensure responsiveness to market, prospect, and customer requirements.

Position is in Cedar Rapids, IA however candidate can work remote. Preference will be given to candidates within commuting distance of Collins facilities in Cedar Rapids, IA, Richardson, TX, El Segundo, CA, Largo, FL, Marlborough, MA, or Washington DC area.

What You Will Do

  • Establish/maintain relationships with key customers
  • Conduct market research and identify high value business cases via P&L analysis (gross/net margin, IRR, NPV)
  • Assess Collins' positioning against competitive solutions and trends
  • Lead the strategic planning efforts of a cross functional team
  • Monitor customer requirements and funding
  • Lead a cross functional team in the development of compelling briefings, white papers, and proposals
  • Prepare/maintain forecasts of future opportunities
  • Collaborate with the Collins marketing team to create datasheets, websites, and press releases
  • Travel 30-50% Required

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience working in the military space domain
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working in communications or RF
  • Experience in military communication systems, capabilities, and technologies

Desired Qualifications

  • Prefer significant experience working across functions and across organizations
  • Experience working in US Government Acquisitions
  • Prefer significant experience budgeting/writing solicitations and evaluating proposals
  • 3+ years' experience working in communications or RF
