Job description

We are seeking a skilled Business Intelligence Analyst/Developer to help modernize data architectures, transform legacy data pipelines, and build robust data solutions that impact vital public health and community support systems.

Key Details

  • Work Arrangement: Remote (Telecommuting within the US; candidate must provide their own computer, monitor, and high-speed internet connection)
  • Work Location: Salem, Oregon
  • Work Schedule: Begins as full-time hours, then shifts to a part-time schedule (up to a maximum cap of 1,040 hours total)
  • Interview Process: 100% Remote via Microsoft Teams

Core Tech Stack & Requirements

Note: The ideal candidate must have a blend of advanced backend programming and strong data analysis capabilities.

Required Skills (Must-Have):

  • SQL Programming: 7 9 years of advanced experience, specifically utilizing the Microsoft SQL Server stack.
  • Python Programming: 7 9 years of advanced experience building and optimizing data scripts.
  • Data Analysis: 4 6 years of proficient, deep-dive data analysis and data validation.
  • Code Management: Hands-on proficiency with Git or Microsoft DevOps.

Preferred Skills (Nice-to-Have):

  • SAS Programming: Experience reading or analyzing legacy SAS code to assist with modernizing it into SQL/Python.
  • Data Warehousing: Solid understanding of data marts, schemas, and ETL architecture.

What You Will Do in This Position

  • ETL Pipeline Modernization: Analyze, design, and convert legacy data pipelines into highly modular SQL stored procedures and Python scripts.
  • Data Architecture Prep: Enhance dataflows, tables, views, and queries to ensure data continuity as systems transition toward future cloud environments (AWS/Azure).
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with internal data management staff, project managers, database administrators, and business teams to document system requirements and translate business rules into clean code.
