Job description

Analytica is seeking a Senior Data Modeler to support a dynamic federal government project. The ideal candidate will lead the development, validation, publishing, and maintenance of logical and physical data models required to migrate existing data marts into EASparx. The qualified candidate will effectively communicate with Government stakeholders to convey complex and technical concepts to a wider audience. They will also leverage their knowledge of data modeling best practices along with cross industry data expertise and data modeling tool expertise and generally support the client with enterprise-wide data administration services.

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
  • Coordinate data models, data dictionaries, and other database documentation across multiple applications
  • Leads design reviews of data deliverable such as models, data flows, and data quality assessments
  • Perform data analysis, discovery, profiling and identify cause of data issues and work with broader team to resolve
  • Develop solid understanding of the various source data sets and assist in laying out the overall data design solutions
  • Promotes data modeling standardization, defines and drives adoption of the standards
  • Analyze source systems to understand the data and create Logical Data Model
  • Worked closely with ETL Developers, DataBase Administrators and Analysts in creating various data models
  • Redefined many attributes and relationships in the model and cleansed unwanted tables/columns as part of Data Analysis responsibilities
  • Identified and processed the Fact and Dimension tables
  • Create Source to Target documents with all the information required for ETL Development
  • Worked with report developers for building Data Marts for ad hoc reporting
  • Preparing the Modeling standards for Logical and Physical data Modeling Class words, Audit and Business Effective columns for bank General Purpose Mart.
  • Working on an automation process through which developers can directly make changes to the database without the involvement of data modelers

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or related field.
  • 5+ years in Data Modeling role proficient with entity relation diagrams, logical/physical data models creation, review, and analysis and issue resolution
  • Experience working with and creating data architecture
  • Experience with data warehousing and data modeling tools such as Erwin, EASparx, MagicDraw, ERStudio, JSON, Graph Database, UML, RDF, Python, SQL, NOSQL
  • Experience with data mapping with complex logic, defined technical and business rules.
  • Experience with data modeling concepts (conceptual/logical/physical/semantic, multi-dimensional models (star, snowflake), normalized/denormalized models)
  • Experience driving data design and end to end processing
  • Experience with data modeling for Agile, DevOps, Cloud, JSON, Graph Database, UML is desired
  • Knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques is desired
  • Experience with moderate SQL scripts (creating, reading, running, customizing)
