Job description

Responsibilities

Independent creation of complete regulatory models using required software, including AERMOD,AERMET, AERMAP, BPIPPRM, AERSURFACE, and AERSCREEN.

Interpreting and applying EPA modeling guidance, including Appendix W, AERMOD implementation Guide, and related technical memoranda.

Explaining to technical reviewers, project managers, clients, and permitting agencies the air dispersion models' assumptions, results, limitations, and regulatory significance.

Overseeing project scope, budget, and schedule while maintaining quality standards.

Building strong client relationships and contributing to business growth through technical leadership.

Collaboration with a multifunctional, cross-regional team

Required Skills

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Atmospheric Sciences/Meteorology, or related field (Master's preferred).

Experience reviewing AERMOD results, extracting design concentrations, preparing results tables, and comparing model results to SILs, NAAQS, PSD increments, or other thresholds.

Experience evaluating meteorological data, surface characteristics, terrain, background concentrations, and nearby source inventories.

Strong technical writing skills, with the ability to prepare concise, defensible, and well-documented modeling protocols, reports, memoranda, and comment responses.

Strong attention to detail, analytical judgement, and problem-solving ability.

Proficiency with GIS, mapping tools, and spatial data processing.

Programming and scripting experience in Python, R, BASH, or similar to automate modeling workflows, QA checks, post-processing, and visualization.
