Job description

The Bank Products and Services group provides a bank-wide product and services framework that prioritizes client needs, resources and capital demands for creating growth, providing TUCE and introducing greater innovation and efficiencies into our solutions and operating model.
As a Data Product Manager, you will lead and inspire cross-functional teams in the creation and delivery of business-driving data products, fostering collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to excellence. You will also collaborate with business leaders, data owners, data stewards, product managers, solution architects, and business analysts to design high-impact data solutions. This is a subset of the overall responsibilities which involves other multiple initiatives as assigned by Bank Product leadership.
This role is hybrid (Mon through Thu on-site; Fri remote) for candidates in the Kansas City area and open to qualified remote candidates outside of the Kansas City area. However, the remote location must but within the US.
How you will spend your time:
  • Translate business requirements into detailed data, product specifications, and technical requirements.
  • Work closely with data engineering, data science, data governance, and platform teams to develop and launch data products.
  • Collaborate with Data Product Owner to define, articulate, and champion the vision, mission, and strategic roadmap for data products.
  • Assess complex business challenges, recommending leading practices to enhance and differentiate data products.
  • Develop and maintain a product roadmap that outlines the development and release schedule for data products, including managing backlog and assists with planning upcoming pipeline.
  • Prioritize features and enhancements based on customer feedback, market needs, and business goals.
  • Collaborate with a team to develop comprehensive documentation for data products, including user guides, technical specifications, and FAQs, including ensuring data mapping, lineage, definitions, and controls are documented in the data management tooling solution.
  • Co-develop data product lifecycle, from ideation and prototyping to testing, deployment, and support.
  • Understand the integration of data from various sources into data products.
  • Ensure products are scalable, reliable, secure, and compliant with industry standards and regulations.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and impact.
  • Analyze product performance data to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for optimization.
  • Regularly communicate product updates, strategic vision, and performance metrics to stakeholders, ensuring alignment and transparency.
  • Convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Help establish a culture of trust and accountability within the data product team and with other stakeholders, including working with the data product team to develop their skillset.

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Management Information Systems, Business Administration or related discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 6 years of experience in data governance, product management, business analysis, data engineering, data science or a related field with at least 3 years of experience specifically focused on data products or data-driven initiatives.
  • Experience working with multiple functional teams and engaging closely with the business.
  • Strong business presence, ability to lead cross-functional partners in all phases of projects and serve as the "go to" point person for business data needs.
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills and able to generate insights from data and translate it into actionable changes.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and pays keen attention to detail.
  • Strong ability to write, present, share ideas, and articulate concepts.
  • Designed and implemented frameworks, processes, and metrics for a data office/function within banking services.
  • Strong understanding of data technologies, integration, and architecture, including familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), modern data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks), and data processing frameworks (Hadoop, Spark).
  • Experience with BI tools (PowerBI, Tableau) and data analytics, including data modeling, ETL processes, and SQL.
  • Knowledge in financial services process/workflow, including data management, card transactions, core banking deposits and customer processing, loan processing, payments, and fraud management.

Bonus Points if you have:
  • Experience with defining data risk and familiarity with financial services privacy and data risk standards.
  • Proficiency in utilizing Informatica data management tools and defining data concepts.
  • Ability to lead and capture business needs.
  • Experience advancing a bank's data product capabilities and developing a rollout plan.

Compensation Ranges:
US Employees in California, Washington DC, New Jersey, and New York:
$100,710 - $157,630
US Employees in Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin:
$91,950 - $144,320
US Employees in all other states not listed above:
$83,200 - $131,000
