To excel as a Remote Scaffolding Manager, you need in-depth knowledge of scaffolding systems, safety regulations, and project management, typically supported by relevant certifications such as CISRS or OSHA. Familiarity with digital project management tools, CAD software, and remote collaboration platforms is crucial for overseeing teams and project logistics from afar. Senior Manager, Applied AI Engineering - Remote

Job description

Position Overview:

The Senior Manager, Applied AI Engineering is a senior individualย contributorย role with broad ownership acrossย Ceribell'sย internal AI engineering portfolio. This person will carry projects fromย initialย problem definition through production deployment,ย operatingย effectively under conditions of ambiguity and incomplete specification. The technical bar is high - this isย first and foremostย an engineering role - but the ability to engageย atย the business layer and translate between technical and commercial realities is equally non-negotiable.ย

This role reports directly to the Director of Strategic Programs and Applied AI and works in close, ongoing collaboration with Engineering leadership. The successful candidate will directย externalย engineering contractors, partner cross-functionally with stakeholders across commercial, clinical, finance, and operations, and take on expanding ownership of the AI project portfolio as the function scales.ย

This is a remote position. Candidate can be based anywhere within the US.

What you'll do:

  • Assume end-to-end ownership of AI engineering projects across the portfolio - from requirements definition through architecture, development oversight, and production deployment
  • Designย GCPย infrastructure across all environments, in partnership with engineering: Cloud Run, IAM, VPC network isolation, CI/CD pipelines, secrets management, observability, and security controlsย
  • Translate business requirements into technically precise specifications - and proactively challenge scope or approach when a stronger path exists
  • Lead company-wide AI infrastructure rollout and upskilling initiatives, including training programs, office hours, super-user community development, and AI governance scaffolding
  • Develop PRDs, architecture documents, and project scopes that enable contractors and engineering partners to execute independently
  • Forecast build timelines and resource requirements across a portfolio of concurrent initiatives
  • Direct and quality-review the output of external engineering contractors
  • Identifyย and advance system-level improvements proactively - with a recommendation and a plan, not merely an observation
  • Build documentation and operational foundations designed to scale beyond any individual projectย

What We're Looking For:ย

Requiredย

  • 8+ years of experience spanning software engineering, cloud infrastructure, and technical program or product managementย
  • Active, daily use of LLM-based AI tools (Claude, Gemini, or equivalent) as a core part of your professional workflow - not familiarity, fluencyย
  • Demonstrated ability to architect and own GCP infrastructure end-to-end, without external directionย
  • Proven capacity to move from an ambiguous problem statement to a structured technical plan independentlyย
  • Strong ability to engage cross-functional business stakeholders,ย identifyย the root of what theyย actually need, and translate that into technically sound specificationsย
  • Experience writing PRDs, architecture documents, and detailed project scopesย
  • Bachelor's degreeย required;ย Master'sย degree strongly preferredย

Preferredย

  • Familiarity with mobile development constraints and cross-platform frameworks
  • Experience with Salesforce integrations or CRM-adjacent technical work
  • Experience directing or managing external engineering contractors or vendors
  • Background in MedTech, health IT, or a regulated industryย

What Sets the Best Candidates Apartย

  • You leave every system, document, and process better than you found it - consistently, without being asked
  • You bring fully-formedย ideas and recommendations, not status updates awaiting direction
  • You think in systems and design for scale, not just for the immediate ask
  • You are genuinely invested in arriving at the best answer, and will push back - respectfully and constructively - when you believe a better one exists
  • You are energized by fast-moving, resource-constrained environments where ownership is totalย and the problems are genuinely novelย
