The Opportunity
The Operations Director, Summer Learning at Lavinia Group, a division of K12 Coalition, leads the operational planning, systems, and infrastructure that support successful delivery and growth of the RISE Program. This role is responsible for translating program priorities into scalable operational plans across staffing, budgeting, technology, curriculum and materials, training, and other interconnected workstreams.
Working closely with the Senior Director, Summer Learning and leaders across Lavinia Group, the Operations Director anticipates operational needs, establishes clear processes and project plans, manages dependencies, and ensures the people, systems, resources, and logistics required for RISE are aligned and ready for implementation.
This role is ideal for an experienced operations leader who can bring structure to complex work, build scalable systems, and manage multiple interconnected priorities with a high degree of accuracy and follow-through.
The Operations Director reports to the Vice President, Strategy & Operations, partners closely with the Senior Director, Summer Learning on RISE priorities, and directly manages the Associate, Operations.
What You'll Do
Operational Planning & Execution
  • Lead operational planning and execution for the RISE Program across staffing, curriculum and materials, training, technology, and other interconnected workstreams.
  • Translate program priorities into clear project plans, timelines, responsibilities, and deliverables, identifying dependencies and resolving operational challenges that could impact implementation.
  • Build and improve scalable systems, processes, and operating practices that support consistent RISE delivery.

Budget & Resource Planning
  • Develop and manage the annual RISE operating budget, monitor performance, and recommend adjustments based on program priorities and available resources.
  • Develop and maintain RISE pricing models for training, services, materials, and other program-related offerings or purchases.
  • Lead staffing and capacity planning for RISE, anticipating resource needs and partnering with leadership to align staffing plans with program and budget priorities.

Systems, Technology & Summer Readiness
  • Lead the operational systems and technology that support RISE, including identifying requirements, coordinating enhancements, and improving workflows across platforms and tools.
  • Oversee operational planning and logistics for Teacher Training Week and other critical RISE implementation activities.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage technology and AI-enabled tools to streamline processes, reduce manual work, and strengthen scalability.

Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Partner closely with Summer Learning leadership and functional teams to coordinate operational needs across curriculum, training, coaching, assessments, technology, materials, and vendors.
  • Establish visibility into timelines, dependencies, risks, and decisions to keep interconnected RISE workstreams aligned and on track.
  • Lead post-season operational reviews and translate lessons learned into improvements for future RISE planning and implementation.

Team Leadership
  • Manage and develop the Associate, Operations, establishing clear priorities, responsibilities, and performance expectations.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and direction while delegating operational execution and maintaining oversight of key deliverables and timelines.

Other Duties
  • Support the team with additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to help meet evolving organizational goals and objectives.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in operations, program management, project management, or a related field, including responsibility for complex, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience managing budgets and developing staffing, capacity, or resource plans.
  • Strong project management skills with experience managing multiple interconnected workstreams, timelines, dependencies, and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience building and improving operational systems, workflows, and processes that support efficiency and scalability.
  • Experience managing and developing direct reports, including setting priorities, delegating work, and providing performance feedback.
  • Advanced proficiency with Google Workspace, including Google Sheets, and experience using project management, workflow, CRM, or similar operational technology. Familiarity with Canvas or other learning management systems is preferred.
  • Experience leveraging AI-enabled tools and technology to improve workflows, solve operational problems, and reduce manual processes.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to independently manage competing priorities in a remote work environment.
  • Experience in K-12 education, education services, summer learning, or a related environment is helpful but not required.
