Job description

Designs, develops and executes safety campaigns and initiatives, administers accident classification process and serves on the network wide rapid response team and is available for accident or incident response.

Essential Functions
Promotes a Safety Above All culture.
Designs, develops and executes safety campaigns and initiatives.
Defines the methodology, and measures to determine the overall effectiveness and results of safety campaigns and initiatives.
Develops communication plans and training materials related to new processes and procedures. Maintains and develops content for the safety intranet site.
Ensures cross-functional support of safety initiatives.
Administers Safety programs that support FedEx's workplace, compliance requirements, and operating agreements.
Benchmarks with education and industry experts to determine best practices.
Administers the application of recurring motor carrier testing, and reporting requirements.
Administers the accident classification process and supports the accident appeals committee.
Plans and coordinates company participation and support in industry-related events.
Serves on the network wide rapid response team and is available for accident or incident response by traveling to incidents including but not limited to accidents, injuries, hazardous material incidents, and in response t other regulatory concerns, leading the execution of safety specific tasks and serves as primary liaison between FedEx and enforcement on-scene.
Leads conference calls and meetings relating to immediate action incidents, and performing root cause analysis, develops and performs after-action initiatives, and follow-up on these same events.
As directed, point of contact for safety related local emergencies. Assesses the situation, and provides safety guidance.
Peforms other duties as assigned.


This position is eligible for remote work and may be located anywhere within the United States excluding AK, HI and U.S. territories, however if you live within the 50 miles radius of a campus you will be required to work at a FedEx campus location several times per week


Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Communications, Safety, Logistics/Transportation, or related field required.

Related experience may offset degree requirements and related education/degree may offset experience requirements.


Minimum Experience
Three (3) years previous experience required in safety, communications, marketing, or related fied.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of concepts, practices, and industry trends related to industrial/occupational safety.
Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office and web-based applications.
Verbal and written communication skills necessary to deliver impactful messages in various formats.
Ability to analyze, review, and make recommendations.
Time management and organizational skills necessary to manage multiple projects, appropriately prioritize workload, plan for resources to meet deadlines and goals, and respond to day-to-day functional needs.
