What you'll do

We are looking for a Software Engineer for the Extensibility Platform team, to help us build and scale the App Development/Packaging/Distribution and Extensions Platform for Docusign. As a member of the team, you will help drive the features and development of all the services to build a state of the art solution. You will work with your team to build a top-tier software organization that is responsible for delivering SaaS products that meet the needs of our wide range of customers and their workflows. If you are collaborative, results-driven, believe in winning together, love working on difficult problems, and always looking for continuous improvement, this is your team. Our team focuses on distributed decision making that rewards ownership, transparency, and collaboration.

This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Senior Manager, Engineering.

Responsibility

  • Deliver features and products that delight customers while managing the health of the code base through continuous refactoring and management of technical debt

  • Work with your team to deliver software best practices, automated test strategies, and flatten the cost of change for our software products and services

  • Develop high-quality, ship-ready code that is covered by a full test suite

  • Solve problems at scale and build fault-tolerant systems

  • Work with Product Management and other developers to understand and translate marketing requirements into design requirements and provide estimates for development

  • Work as part of a cross-site development team to drive the design, implementation, testing, and release of products

Job Designation

Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)

What you bring

Basic

  • 5+ years of development experience or equivalent

  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Informatics, or equivalent

  • Experience with data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals

  • Experience working with C#, Node.js, Java, or other modern programming languages

  • Experience building cloud-native services using REST APIs, microservice-based architectures

  • Experience with the entire software development lifecycle, including version control (git), CICD pipelines, testing, and regional cloud deployments

  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-moving environment, prioritize your work, and manage your own time

Preferred

  • Experience using containerized technologies (e.g. K8S, and Docker)

  • Test-first or test-driven development (TDD) mentality

  • Experience with Typescript and NodeJs

  • Experience with Azure and Azure available tools like AKS, Cosmos, etc.

  • Experience designing, developing, troubleshooting, and debugging multi-regional web-services

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills

  • Experience developing large-scale cloud services, including troubleshooting and performance tuning

  • Experience in high-scale distributed systems and fault-tolerant design

  • Experience with agile and test-driven development methodologies

Wage Transparency

Pay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:

California: $146,400.00 - $235,375.00 base salary

Washington, Maryland, New Jersey and New York (including NYC metro area): $140,100.00 - $206,775.00 base salary

This role is also eligible for the following:

  • Bonus: Sales personnel are eligible for variable incentive pay dependent on their achievement of pre-established sales goals. Non-Sales roles are eligible for a company bonus plan, which is calculated as a percentage of eligible wages and dependent on company performance.
  • Stock: This role is eligible to receive Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
