We are seeking Russian Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to join our USCIS contract team. These interpreters will provide real-time telephonic interpretation between Russian and English during immigration interviews, hearings, and official proceedings.
Responsibilities
  • Provide accurate, impartial Russian English telephonic interpretation for USCIS officers, applicants, and stakeholders.
  • Interpret in immigration, legal, and administrative contexts with professionalism.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to USCIS/DHS compliance standards.
  • Handle both scheduled and urgent interpretation requests.
  • Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance audits.
Qualifications
  • Native or near-native proficiency in Russian and English.
  • 2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, legal, medical, or government settings preferred).
  • Knowledge of interpreter ethics and professional standards (NCIHC, ATA, RID).
  • Strong communication skills; ability to remain accurate under pressure.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 clearance.
