Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior CICS systems programmer to join our team providing system support of IBM's Customer Information Control System (CICS) on z/OS in the Mainframe Database Technical Services group.

Middleware & Database Technical Services group within Infrastructure & Engineering - Mainframe Delivery is responsible for Support, Design, Build, Test and Deploy of Mainframe Database and Transaction Manager systems. We also provide consultation services with Architects and application developers on application design and functions that is related to CICS, IMS, Db2, WAS z/OS and z/OS Connect infrastructure.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

This job posting is for senior level CICS System Programmer. The successful candidate will be involved in planning, analysis, design, building, testing, consulting and implementation on CICS related projects.

  • Principle in maintaining CICS infrastructure on the z/OS platform
  • Support CICS related products
  • Support CICS application developers
  • Support and/or Lead in the mentoring of less experienced CICS Systems Programmers
  • Lead Contributor for CICS usage, futures, and direction at the Bank

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • College / University or equivalent work experience

  • 5-10 years of CICS and/or application experience, with most of the following skills:
  • Sound understanding of CICS, CICSPlex and CTG internal and externals
  • Sound understanding of z/OS components and architecture
  • Sound knowledge of z/OS and CICS diagnostics tools and tooling
  • Working knowledge of SMP/e, Omegamon and System Automation
  • Performance analysis skills is an asset
  • Solid problem-solving skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • The successful candidate must be a self-starter, team player, and able to collaborate positively with other departments
