What does a remote roller coaster design engineer do?

A Remote Roller Coaster Design Engineer is responsible for designing roller coasters and amusement rides, often working from a remote location using advanced software and simulation tools. They create ride layouts, analyze structural and safety requirements, and collaborate with teams to ensure the ride is both exhilarating and secure. Their work involves balancing creativity with engineering principles to deliver safe, innovative, and exciting attractions. Communication with clients, manufacturers, and on-site engineers is also a key part of the role.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote roller coaster design engineer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Roller Coaster Design Engineer, you need a solid background in mechanical or structural engineering, proficiency in physics, and typically a relevant engineering degree. Job description

A fast-growing B2B infrastructure platform is expanding its engineering team and looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join one of its most critical and high-velocity teams. This is a full-time, 100% remote opportunity built around a TypeScript, Node.js, and Nest.js stack, with microservice architecture at the core. The platform powers real-time services for a rapidly growing merchant base and operates at meaningful scale. EST hours are required.

This team owns more services than any other in the company, and every major initiative flows through it. With a rapidly expanding customer base and 15 to 18 services under the team's umbrella, you will have real opportunities to shape architecture, mentor engineers, and ship work that matters in production. This role is built for an engineer who wants full ownership, thrives without bureaucracy, and wants to see their fingerprints on something that is actually growing. If that sounds like you, we want to hear from you.
Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of backend engineering experience with TypeScript and Node.js
  • Demonstrated experience designing and maintaining APIs at scale in production environments
  • Track record of building and shipping services end to end with full ownership
  • Strong foundation in system design and microservice architecture
  • Startup mentality, comfortable with ownership, ambiguity, and moving fast
  • Clear communicator who can make and defend technical decisions
  • Experience mentoring engineers and raising the bar on a team

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Nest.js experience
  • Background in ecommerce or experience integrating with logistics and shipping APIs
  • Familiarity with Shopify, Magento, or WooCommerce
  • Java experience with Quarkus as a bonus
  • Experience with MongoDB or Infrastructure as Code

What You Will Be Doing
Tech Breakdown

  • 60% TypeScript / Node.js / Nest.js Backend Development
  • 20% System Design and Architecture
  • 20% API Integrations (Shopify, Magento, Headless eCommerce)

Daily Responsibilities

  • 60% Hands-On Engineering (Building, Maintaining, and Scaling Backend Services)
  • 20% Team Collaboration and Mentorship
  • 20% Architecture and Design Decisions

The Offer

  • Competitive Base Salary
  • Bonus Eligible
  • Fully Remote (EST Hours Required)
You will receive the following benefits:
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • Flexible PTO
  • Performance-Based Equity

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis now and in the future.
