VP, Clinical Services & Operations

The VP of Clinical Services and Ops serves as an enterprise clinical leader responsible for setting and advancing clinical services strategy while ensuring strong field execution. This role supports and enables field clinical operations by translating clinical priorities into clear policies, procedures, clinical content, and education that drive consistent, high-quality care. The VP partners closely with Field leaders and GVPs to plan, implement, and sustain clinical strategy in clinics, using field engagement, rounding, and feedback loops to identify barriers, accelerate adoption, and improve outcomes. This leader oversees clinical writing and governance (including standards, procedures, and supporting tools), as well as the design, delivery, and evaluation of clinical education programs that build teammate capability. The VP leverages data, trends, and performance metrics to monitor impact, course-correct quickly, and continuously strengthen safety, quality, and operational performance across the country.

Location preference: This is a remote position. Candidates can be based anywhere in the US.

Travel requirements: This role will require approximately 25-50% travel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic & Clinical Leadership

  • Sets enterprise direction for clinical services strategies & programs that improve patient outcomes, advance safety performance, and drive consistent execution across the country.

  • Provides executive leadership for innovation and strategic initiatives that address business priorities, field performance needs, and evolving patient care requirements.

  • Manages compliance and regulatory adherence, ensuring training programs meet external regulatory requirements, required documentation is submitted to regulatory agencies, and action plans are developed and executed to address deficiencies.

Educational Program Development & Delivery

  • Establishes enterprise clinical education strategy and priorities, ensuring educational programs are aligned to clinical, operational, quality, and safety goals

  • Identifies, analyzes, and drives continuous improvement opportunities of educational offerings; regularly reports on training program performance.

  • Ensuresteams drivethe implementation of training materials/revisions and ensurestimelycompletion of required training for clinical teammates.

Team Management & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Manages a diverse team including Directors of Clinical Services and Clinical Services Managers to include training, coaching, and ongoing performance management.

  • Manages, develops, and trains a team of clinical and non-clinical education teammates.

  • Owns clinical policy, procedure, and standards governance; leads clinical writing to ensure content is clear, usable in the field, and aligned with regulatory, safety, and quality expectations.

  • Partners with Field OPUS leaders and Palmers to drive effective implementation of clinical strategy, including change planning, leader enablement, and escalation/resolution of execution barriers.

  • Maintains strong field presence through regular travel to markets and clinics to observe workflows, coach leaders, gather frontline input, and ensure strategies are practical, adopted, and sustained.

Administrative Duties

  • Participatesin the development and management of capital budgets on an ongoing basis.

  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS OF COMBINED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursingrequired

  • Master's degree in education, business, or related field preferred

  • Minimum of tenyears'clinical experience in renal services

  • Minimum of ten years' leadership experience in clinical operations, clinical services, education, and/or administrative functions in a complex healthcare environment

  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale implementation, change management, and cross-functional strategic initiatives

  • Demonstratedexpertisein effectively teaching adult learners with different learning styles.

  • Demonstratedexpertisein organizing and speaking at large corporate meetings.

  • Prior experience managing remote teammates.

  • Highly effective communicator, highly organized withanability to drive new clinical processes into routine habits, and advancedproficiencyin MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Learning Management Systems (LMS).

LIST OF CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS:

  • Current RN license in state of practice required

  • Certification in Nephrology Nursing (CNN) or Case Management preferred

  • Clinical Nurse Specialist or Advanced Practice Nursing

  • Active member of training and development professional organizations (e.g., ATD, Training Magazine) preferred
