As a Virtual Mental Health Counselor, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Engaging in crisis intervention and diversion to assist clients in effectively managing their immediate mental health crises.
• Coordinating care by referring clients to psychiatrists, advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs), or substance use disorder specialists for comprehensive assessments as needed.
• Developing tailored intervention strategies to empower clients dealing with challenges such as low self-esteem, substance addiction, familial conflicts, or suicidal ideation.
• Maintaining and analyzing detailed records for all assigned clients to inform appropriate therapeutic approaches and ensure continuity of care.
• Collaborating with clients’ family members or caregivers as necessary to monitor treatment responses and behavioral changes, fostering a supportive environment.

Your primary focus will be on a diverse client population, including individuals facing mental health issues, those living with intellectual disabilities, and clients in need of substance use counseling. You will provide empathetic support, drawing from your skills to break down barriers to treatment and offer individualized support that recognizes each person’s unique background, experiences, and challenges.

To be considered for this position, the following qualifications are required:

• Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling.
• Current licensure as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
• No history of medical malpractice claims, confirmed through third-party verification.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

While not mandatory, candidates with the following experiences will be highly regarded:

• Experience providing therapy via telehealth platforms, demonstrating proficiency in creating a therapeutic rapport through virtual means.
• Background working with adolescents or clients from marginalized communities enhances your ability to connect and provide culturally competent care.
• Familiarity with documentation and electronic health record (EHR) systems to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
