Refreshed Hope Mental Health Services, LLC is seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team in a full-time, remote capacity. • Conduct thorough intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations, including the administration of pertinent tools such as the Gains and Locus assessment, to develop effective treatment plans tailored to each client’s unique needs.
• Provide crisis intervention and support to clients experiencing acute emotional distress, ensuring safe and effective management of their situations.
• Engage with clients and their families to monitor treatment progress, adapt strategies as needed, and serve as their advocate throughout their recovery journey.
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records in accordance with HIPAA and state regulations, ensuring compliance with all legal requirements.
• Participate actively in interdisciplinary meetings to collaborate with other professionals, sharing insights and ensuring cohesive treatment approaches for clients.
• Support the development of junior therapists and interns through supervision and mentoring, fostering a nurturing environment for their professional growth.
• Provide referrals to psychiatrists, advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs), or substance use disorder specialists as appropriate for comprehensive client care.
• Take part in ongoing training, seminars, and professional development activities to enhance your skills and stay informed on industry best practices.
• Assist in the provision of after-hours on-call services to ensure continuous support for clients in crisis.

You will be working with a diverse client base that includes individuals struggling with mental health issues, substance use disorders, and intellectual disabilities. Your ability to provide culturally sensitive care will be crucial in connecting with clients from various socioeconomic backgrounds, ethnicities, and sexual orientations. This role requires a commitment to empowering individuals and promoting resilience in their everyday challenges.

• Master’s Degree in a human services-related field, with a strong foundation in counseling theories and practices.
• Active licensure in the District of Columbia as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
• Strong active listening skills and attention to detail with a commitment to client-centered care.
• Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) and other digital tools relevant to mental health documentation.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, facilitating effective interactions with clients, coworkers, and external partners.
• Ability to manage workload efficiently, meeting productivity expectations and deadlines while maintaining high standards of care.

• Prior experience in a telehealth environment and familiarity with the specific needs of remote clients.
• Demonstrated ability to handle complex cases involving dual diagnosis or severe mental health presentations.
• Experience advocating for clients within various systems, including healthcare, housing, and employment services.
