To thrive as a Remote RN First Assist, you need advanced clinical knowledge in perioperative nursing, strong assessment skills, and an active RNFA certification in addition to an RN license. Familiarity with telehealth platforms, electronic health records (EHRs), and secure communication systems is vital for remote collaboration. Excellent communication, critical thinking, and the ability to work independently are standout soft skills in this role. These competencies ensure safe, effective support for surgical teams and patients, especially when assisting remotely in dynamic and high-stakes situations.

To address these, it's important to be proficient with digital platforms, stay updated on best practices in remote perioperative care, and actively participate in virtual team meetings. Building strong relationships with the surgical team and maintaining flexibility can also help ensure smooth collaboration and high-quality patient outcomes.
