Contract Overview:
The Medical Records Abstractor at Fourier Health is a healthcare professional whose aim is to help review, annotate and label medical records for our human-in-the-loop AI summarization platform. You will:
  • Review large volumes of medical documentation, abstract key clinical data and label it appropriately based on provided clinical guidelines
  • Review AI-processed documentation and labeling for quality and safety
  • Collaborate with Fourier Health's team on a project basis to support clinical documentation workflows

This is a remote, 1099 role. Variable workload available based on case volume. Contractors set their own schedule and work autonomously, provided deliverables are completed within agreed turnaround windows.

Requirements
  • At least 2 years of experience working with medical records or clinical data
  • Comfortable interpreting records across a variety of specialties, with a focus on benign hematology and/or oncology - experience in other specialties is a plus
  • Work efficiently through high case volumes while meeting standard turnaround time requirements
  • Detail-oriented, curious, and proactive about solving problems in healthcare
  • Technically comfortable with new systems and software, and able to communicate clearly with IT teams
  • Holds an Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Holds an active, unencumbered certification (required for MA or CNA applicants)
  • Familiar with HIPAA compliance
  • Work independently and supply their own laptop or desktop computer
  • Currently located and authorized to work in the United States

Bonus Qualifications:
  • ODS certification (Oncology Data Abstractor applicants)
  • Experience with oncology or pediatric patient data
  • Experience in a digital health startup or fast paced environment
  • Experience with veteran medical documentation
  • Background in Release of Information or Patient Intake
  • Basic understanding of AI and data processing workflows
  • Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, or HCC coding
