As a Mental Health Counselor, your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting thorough assessments to evaluate clients’ histories concerning substance abuse and relevant mental health issues.
• Designing and implementing personalized treatment plans that address both addiction and mental health conditions.
• Facilitating individual and group therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing.
• Collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary treatment team to ensure that clients receive integrated, holistic care.
• Engaging families in the recovery process by providing education and support aimed at fostering a healthier home environment.
• Maintaining meticulous case notes and documentation, adhering to both company policies and state regulations.

Your work will primarily involve individuals struggling with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health issues. This diverse population requires therapists who are both empathetic and skilled in addressing the complexities of addiction, as well as the social and psychological factors that may hinder recovery. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A valid professional license as LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or PsyD.
• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or a closely related field.
• Specialized training or significant experience in addiction counseling and recovery.
• In-depth knowledge of evidence-based practices for treating substance abuse and associated co-occurring disorders.
• Exceptional therapeutic and counseling skills, with a demonstrated ability to motivate and empower clients.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with an emphasis on collaborative care.

Preferred experience includes:

• Prior work in outpatient or residential substance abuse treatment settings.
• Hands-on experience working with diverse populations and understanding cultural competency.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for maintaining client documentation.
