We are looking for someone with deep transmission operations, power systems, or Energy Management System experience who can help Survalent understand the market, define the product roadmap, and guide the development of software solutions for transmission operators.  In this role, “EMS” refers specifically to Energy Management Systems for electric transmission operations, or “TMS” refers specifically to Transmission Management Systems, including applications used for power system monitoring, analysis, control, reliability, and security assessment. What You'll Do… Define Survalent's Transmission Strategy * Help define Survalent's long-term vision and strategy for Transmission Management Systems (TMS) and Energy Management Systems (EMS). * Identify market opportunities, customer needs, and industry trends that should influence product investments. * Guide the company's entry and expansion into transmission-focused markets.  Represent the Voice of Transmission Operators * Engage with transmission utilities, balancing authorities (BAs), reliability coordinators (RCs), independent system operators (ISOs), regional transmission organizations (RTOs), and other industry stakeholders. * Understand operational challenges, reliability requirements, regulatory drivers, and evolving market needs. * Bring real-world transmission expertise into product and business decisions.  Shape Product Direction * Help define the capabilities, applications, workflows, and operational functions required within Survalent's EMS/TMS portfolio. * Provide domain leadership across areas such as network modeling, state estimation, contingency analysis, security assessment, topology processing, operator decision support, balancing authority operations, reliability coordination, interchange management, and related transmission applications. * Translate industry requirements into product priorities and roadmap recommendations.  Drive Market and Competitive Intelligence * Analyze industry trends, emerging technologies, regulatory developments, and competitive offerings. * Help position Survalent against established EMS vendors, and other market participants. * Contribute to market sizing, business case development, and investment recommendations.  Support Go-to-Market Success * Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Leadership teams to develop messaging, positioning, demonstrations, and customer engagement strategies. * Help educate internal teams on transmission operations, EMS applications, customer buying criteria, and market expectations. * Represent Survalent at industry conferences, customer meetings, and technical forums.  Enable Product Development * Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering teams to translate transmission expertise into practical software solutions. * Help prioritize investments, define requirements, and evaluate product concepts. * Ensure product decisions align with customer needs and industry expectations. What We’re Looking For … Deep Transmission Domain Expertise We are seeking an experienced transmission operations or EMS professional who understands how transmission networks are planned, monitored, analyzed, and operated.  The Ideal candidates may have experience working within: * Transmission utilities * Independent System Operators (ISOs) * Regional Transmission Organizations (RTOs) * Balancing Authorities (BAs) * Reliability Coordinators (RCs) * EMS/TMS software vendors * Power system consulting organizations * Grid operations or control centers  Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable: * Energy Management Systems (EMS), * Transmission Management Systems (TMS) * State Estimation * Contingency Analysis * Network Modeling * Security Assessment * Security-Constrained Operations * Reliability Coordination * Balancing Authority Operations * Transmission Operations * Power System Analysis and Control * Power Flow and Optimal Power Flow * Stability Analysis * Congestion Management * Interchange Scheduling * Transmission Planning * Protective Relaying * Operator Training Simulators (OTS)   Strategic and Market Thinking Success in this role requires the ability to look beyond day-to-day operations and help define how the industry is evolving. Electrification, AI-driven data center expansion, renewable generation, energy storage, distributed energy resources, and emerging technologies such as Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) are driving significant increases in electricity demand and changing power flow patterns across transmission networks. Utilities, system operators, and regulators are investing heavily in transmission infrastructure to address capacity constraints, improve reliability, and support the evolving needs of the grid.  As transmission systems become larger, more dynamic, and increasingly interconnected, the importance of real-time situational awareness, system security, contingency analysis, and operational decision support continues to grow. Energy Management Systems (EMS) and Transmission Management Systems (TMS) play a critical role in helping operators maintain the reliability, stability, and security of the bulk electric system. At the same time, the market itself is evolving. New transmission owners and operators are emerging, distributed and independently operated transmission assets are becoming more common, and many traditionally distribution-focused utilities are expanding their ownership and operation of transmission infrastructure. These trends are creating opportunities to rethink how transmission management software is designed, deployed, integrated, and operated. This role offers a unique opportunity to help Survalent define its strategy, product direction, and market approach within this rapidly evolving landscape. You will help identify what the next generation of EMS/TMS solutions should look like, influence how the company enters and competes in this market, and shape products that support the future operation of the electric grid. Why Join Survalent? For more than 60 years, Survalent has helped utilities monitor, control, and operate critical infrastructure. Today, our SCADA and Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) solutions support electric, water, renewable, municipal, and cooperative utilities worldwide, making us a trusted leader in utility operational technology.  As utilities modernize the grid, Survalent continues to expand its portfolio with outage management, distribution management, distributed energy resource management (DERMS), historian, analytics, mobility, cloud, and other mission-critical operational solutions.  Building on this strong foundation, Survalent is expanding into the Transmission Management Systems (TMS) and Energy Management Systems (EMS) market. Unlike many organizations entering this space, we bring decades of utility expertise, proven NERC CIP-compliant platforms, and an established customer base.  This is a unique opportunity to help define our transmission strategy from the ground up. As Product Strategy Manager, you'll play a key role in shaping the product roadmap, influencing market direction, engaging with customers, and building the next generation of transmission solutions for utilities. About Survalent Survalent is a leading provider of operational technology software for electric, water, and renewable energy utilities worldwide. For decades, utilities have trusted Survalent solutions to monitor, control, and optimize critical infrastructure through SCADA, ADMS, OMS, DERMS, analytics, and cloud-enabled technologies. Today, Survalent supports utilities ranging from municipal and cooperative organizations to large investor-owned utilities and transmission operators. Our solutions help customers improve reliability, resilience, operational efficiency, and grid modernization outcomes while meeting evolving regulatory and cybersecurity requirements. As the electric grid continues to evolve, Survalent is expanding its operational technology portfolio to address the growing needs of transmission operators and utilities managing increasingly complex networks. This is a full-time permanent position reporting to the Vice President of Product Management.  The position offers a salary range of $150,000 to $200,000 annually. If you are interested in joining a growing organization in this exciting role, please apply with your resume and cover letter by clicking the application link: Survalent values a diverse workplace and strongly encourages women, people of all races, color, creed, ancestry, ethnic origin, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, religion, national origin, citizenship status, disability, marital status, family status, and those with disabilities to apply.  Survalent is an equal opportunity employer.
