Avella Behavioral Health Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team in a fulfilling remote role. This full-time position offers a remote work setting, allowing for greater flexibility in managing your schedule. Although you will primarily work from home, you will remain an integral part of our outpatient office, with frequent virtual team meetings and collaborative case discussions. • Conduct thorough preliminary interviews, and complete documentation for each client's journey from the initial consultation through treatment milestones.
• Evaluate clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health statuses, utilizing structured assessments and clinical judgment to inform diagnostic impressions.
• Develop personalized intervention and recovery plans tailored to the unique needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups.
• Facilitate engaging and effective individual and group therapy sessions that promote healing, insight, and coping skills.
• Monitor and document client progress throughout treatment, adjusting plans as necessary based on ongoing evaluations.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as psychiatrists, social workers, and nurses, to create integrated intervention strategies for clients.
• Conduct follow-ups with healthcare providers for clients admitted to hospitals, ensuring comprehensive care continuity.
• Identify behaviors and thought patterns that may hinder recovery, implementing prevention strategies and techniques.
• Support family members and primary caregivers in understanding and managing the behavioral challenges associated with mental health conditions.

You will primarily work with a diverse range of clients dealing with various mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction disorders. Understanding the unique backgrounds and needs of each client is essential, as they may come from different cultures and experiences. Your role is crucial in fostering a safe space for clients to share their stories and work towards recovery.

• Master's or Doctorate in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Arizona.
• Successfully achieved a pass score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems, particularly AVATAR, to document client interactions and treatment plans.
• Strong understanding of the interplay between physical, emotional health, and addiction issues.
• Adherence to the best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
• Demonstrated capacity for excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as exceptional interpersonal skills.

• A minimum of two years of experience in a clinical mental health setting, providing direct counseling services.
• Experience working with specific populations affected by trauma, substance abuse, or severe mental illness.
• Familiarity with prescribing practices and medications used by medical specialists that may impact mental health.

The annual salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $100,000, with opportunities for a sign-on bonus.
