Desert Mind Behavioral Health Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our team in a full-time, remote capacity. This position is fully remote, allowing you the flexibility to manage your schedule while delivering quality mental health care. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of mental health professionals, which may include psychiatrists, social workers, and psychiatric nurses, to create a cohesive treatment experience for our clients.

• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based techniques tailored to client needs.
• Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to promote optimal mental health outcomes.
• Work collaboratively with a team of mental health specialists, including social workers and medical personnel, to develop comprehensive intervention plans.
• Provide follow-up care and communication with psychiatrists and other healthcare providers for clients who require hospitalization.
• Identify and address behaviors that may hinder recovery, working closely with clients to develop coping strategies.
• Support families and primary caregivers in understanding and managing the complexities of mental health issues.

Our clients encompass a broad demographic spectrum, ranging from children to adults, each facing unique mental health challenges. You will engage with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues, among others. Your role is vital in building trust and rapport, creating a safe space for clients to express their thoughts and feelings, and empowering them on their journey to recovery.

• A Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field is required.
• Proven experience as a Mental Health Counselor or in a similar psychological support role.
• Strong understanding of psychotropic medications and their effects as prescribed by medical professionals.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills that foster effective therapeutic relationships with clients.

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling or a closely related field is highly preferred.
• Relevant certifications and ongoing educational training in mental health counseling techniques.
• Experience working with diverse populations and familiarity with culturally sensitive counseling practices.
• Advanced knowledge of therapy modalities and treatment frameworks conducive to various mental health scenarios.
