• Conduct comprehensive preliminary interviews with clients, meticulously documenting their mental, emotional, and behavioral health from initial consultation through the completion of their treatment.
• Evaluate clients’ mental and emotional states, and develop tailored intervention and recovery plans that address the specific needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing a variety of therapeutic modalities to foster discussions and interventions that promote healing.
• Monitor and document client progress regularly, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans based on therapeutic feedback and outcomes.
• Collaborate seamlessly with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals including fellow counselors, psychologists, doctors, and social workers to design cohesive intervention strategies.
• Maintain follow-up communications with psychiatrists and attending physicians for clients requiring additional medical attention, ensuring continuity of care.
• Identify and address any behaviors or factors that may impede recovery, working closely with clients and their families to foster an environment conducive to healing.
• Assist family members and primary caregivers in understanding and managing the mental and behavioral challenges present in their loved ones, thereby enhancing support systems.

The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to work with a diverse population, including individuals experiencing a variety of mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction disorders. By providing culturally competent and empathetic care, you will help clients navigate their unique experiences and facilitate significant improvements in their mental health and daily functioning.

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as a LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in the state of California.
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Prior experience working as a mental health counselor, demonstrating effective problem-solving and therapeutic skills.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, specifically AVATAR, to efficiently document client sessions and maintain accurate records.

• Experience addressing physical health conditions and emotional disorders, as well as a strong background in managing clients with addiction issues.
• Awareness of best practices set forth by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
• In-depth understanding of the effects of psychopharmacological medications used by clients administered by medical specialists.
• Proficient written and verbal communication abilities to effectively convey complex ideas in a compassionate and easily digestible manner.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and a naturally empathetic disposition, allowing for strong client rapport.
