Position Summary:
At Ivy Rehab, we're "All About the People"! As a Network and Telecom Technical Lead, you will play a crucial role in our mission to help enable people to live their lives to the fullest.
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Network and Telecom Technical Lead to over- see all aspects of Network and Telecom for our rapidly growing business of over 7000 employees and 600 locations. This role will be responsible for managing and supporting the network (both WAN and LAN) and the telecom environment (currently utilizing RingCentral). This role will be re- sponsible for managing and supporting the full lifecycle of routers, firewalls, switches, WAP's, and telecom devices including the Ivy contact center. The Network and Telecom Lead will work closely with both internal teams, the sites and a third-party Managed Service Provider (MSP) to ensure seamless device provisioning, management, and support.

Job Description:
The Network and Telecom Technical Lead will report to the Vendor Management Director and is an integral member of the IT Team. The Network and Telecom Technical Lead position will oversee all aspects of Ivy Rehab's network and telephone estate for our growing business with over 600 locations and 7000 employees. This role will be responsible for managing and supporting the full lifecycle of all network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, WAP's and telephone infrastructure. Included in this role is responsibility for the design and feature releases for all in scope solutions. The Network and Telecom Technical Lead will work closely with both internal teams and Ivy's third-party Managed Service Provider (MSP) to ensure seamless provisioning, management, support and hardware refresh cycles.
This position allows for remote work and requires travel (5-10%) for business meetings. Our corporate office is based in White Plains, NY.
Key Responsibilities:
CATO Firewalls:
  • Understand SASE firewalls and how they can be best leveraged by a small geographically distributed business.

  • Manage and support the deployment, configuration, and upgrades necessary to maintain connectivity at all Ivy locations.

  • Oversee the capacity allocation by site, weighing overall costs and providing capacity on a site level to allow the business to operate while controlling costs.

  • Contribute to the management of all CATO-related costs, identifying the best features to leverage given the current investment.

  • Ensure that all devices maintain the correct configuration, overseeing the management of the devices by Ivy's MSP.

  • Manage the availability and end user usage of the VPN service, preparing Ivy for an always on configuration in the future.

Switches:
  • Understand the basic operations of switches on a flat network sitting behind a SASE firewall (Cato).

  • Determine Ivy's standards when it comes to deploying new clinic stacks, weighing the pros and cons of inexpensive network switches.

  • Understanding network services and networks utilizing TCP/IP, determining Ivy's standard approach for all clinic deployments.

Wireless:
  • Understand the operations of the wireless network, providing both support and standards creation for a reliable in clinic wireless experience.

  • Evaluate new devices, documenting standard configurations to mitigate risk in support which is provided by our MSP.

  • Identify risks with our wireless deployments, weighing both the costs and reliability of deployment standards.

Telephone:
  • Have a VOIP background, understanding the requirements of a solution to guarantee reliable phone connectivity.

  • Oversee the management and testing of all telephone devices, including both wired and wireless phones in the clinics and corporate HQ.

  • Oversee the usage of cell phones by the Ivy business, working with the business to control costs and choosing the right vendor to meet Ivy's needs.

WAN ISP's:
  • Responsible for selecting the most appropriate ISP by site.

  • Manage relationships with key ISP personnel to have an avenue for escalation when there are challenges at sites.

  • Challenge build costs, determining the availability of alternate carriers or mediums.

  • Determine the use of the best backup internet services by location, considering the geographic location and the availability of 4G/5G.

  • Work with various support teams to troubleshoot problematic sites or ISP's.

Vendor Management:
  • Being responsible for the above areas requires evidence of history in managing partners to guarantee business results.

  • Understand the importance of contract creation and measure definition to better guarantee the success of the relationship between Ivy and the chosen partner.

  • Be the primary escalation point for all Network and Phone vendors, managing their performance to guarantee they help Ivy achieve our business objectives.

  • When necessary, contribute to the selection of alternate partners, helping validate the newly selected partner and establishing governance.

Process Improvement & Documentation:
  • Continuously assess and improve the Network and Telephone processes, recommending changes to our MSP and automating any manual tasks where appropriate.

  • Develop and maintain documentation related to the Network and Telecom infrastructure including device deployment process, troubleshooting guides and support procedures.

Compliance & Security
  • Ensure that all Network and Telephone devices are compliant with company security policies and industry regulations.

  • Work with the security team to ensure devices are updated, configured securely, and protected against threats.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field is preferred or 10 years of relevant experience.

  • 3-5 years of experience in network engineering or infrastructure support

  • Hands-on experience with SASE platforms, especially Cato Networks

  • Strong understanding of networking protocols such as TCP/IP and VPN

  • Experience with firewalls, switches, and network architecture

  • Knowledge of wireless networking standards and VoIP systems

  • Proven ability to manage MSPs and other external vendors

  • Familiarity with network security and compliance best practices

  • Strong documentation, communication, and troubleshooting skills

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and drive initiatives forward

  • Relevant certifications such as Network+, CCNA, or Cato Certified Professional are a plus
