Responsibilities

The Senior Liability Adjuster is responsible for conducting office investigations and adjusting complex commercial general liability claims that are largely litigated, with exposures up to and exceeding policy limits within our Major Case Unit.ย 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle high-exposure commercial liability claims involving severe bodily injury, wrongful death, construction accidents, premises liability, and other catastrophic losses with exposure up to and exceeding policy limits
  • Analyze insurance policies, contracts, indemnification agreements, and additional insured provisions to identify coverage defenses, tender opportunities, and risk transfer strategies
  • Investigate claims, evaluate liability, and determine coverage applicability
  • Manage claims through all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, mediation, settlement conferences, arbitration, and trial preparation
  • Review evidence, expert reports, and medical documentation
  • Establish, evaluate, and maintain large-loss indemnity and expense reserves based on evolving exposure and litigation strategy
  • Take statements and manage claim documentation throughout the claim lifecycle
Qualifications
  • At least 10 years of experience handling litigated commercial liability claims, including catastrophic bodily injury, construction defect, premises liability, or other high-exposure casualty losses.
  • Demonstrated experience setting and managing six- and seven-figure reserves and resolving claims with exposures exceeding $500,000
  • Ability to interpret coverage and analyze insurance policies and contracts to determine priority and risk transfer opportunities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and technical skills
  • Effective time management with the ability to prioritize competing demands
  • Willingness to occasionally travel for hearings, mediations, trials, and conferences
  • Bachelor's degree required; Juris Doctor (JD) or attorney license preferred
  • Licensing Requirement: Candidates must hold an active adjuster license or be willing and able to obtain and maintain all required state licenses. The company will support the licensing process, including training and compliance with ongoing continuing education requirements.

Salary $100,000 - $150,000 +bonus

In accordance with applicable pay transparency laws, this range represents a goodfaith estimate. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, credentials, geographic location, and other considerations permitted by law.

This role may be based out of any of our office locations, including:

New York, NY; Parsippany, NJ; Conshohocken, PA; WilkesBarre, PA; Alpharetta, GA; Rosemont, IL; Plano, TX; Scottsdale, AZ; and Rancho Cordova, CA.
