Job Description:

The Manager of System Solution Engineering (SSE) is the technical leader for the team and responsible for assuring viable technical solutions that are consistent with the sales capture strategy, maximize business profitability, and deliver on customer expectations.

The Manager assures the team crafts high quality proposal documents and technical drawings that clearly and effectively describe the technical solutions being offered.  The Manager participates in discussion and presentations with customers, consultants, vendors and other L3Harris personnel to advance projects.

The Manager will work closely with Sales Leaders in the western half of the United States to prioritize team assignments and manage proposal workload across a team of SSEs. 

Essential Functions:

  • Understand System Engineering Processes and drive efficiencies & improvements
  • Increase the technical accuracy of bid responses
  • Provide benefit of real-world experiences and mentor resources on creative design solutions
  • Drive risk analysis for technical requirements and solutions
  • Implement strategic goals established by leadership
  • Provide input into new products, processes, standards, and/or operational plans that will have measurable impact on business results
  • Mentor and manage a team of SSEs, fostering a high-performance culture and defining technical standards
  • Lead complex problem solving and ensure compliance with customer requirements
  • Partner with product management, sales, and operations to translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Ability to travel 20%

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 9 years prior telecommunications systems design experience, Graduate Degree with 7 years prior experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience in design of Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems (P25, DMR, LTE, etc), IP networks, RF antenna systems, microwave systems, wireless data systems, data networking, as well as system configuration documentation is preferred.
  • Experience in managing a cross-functional team virtually with geographically dispersed team members to drive system sales.
  • Demonstrate the capacity to effectively foster team building within and beyond his/her work group.
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate strong presentation skills with the ability to present complex topics to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Must be able to accommodate multiple projects. Must be self-directed and willing to take initiative.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C. area, Denver, or NYC areas is $127,500 - $236,500. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Cleveland Ohio, Vermont and Virginia is $110,500 - $205,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
