Job description

The Employee Relations Consultant is an individual contributor role and works under the general direction of the Employee Relations Manager.

The Employee Relations Consultant is responsible for managing and advising on multifaceted complex (Tier 2) employment matters. The Employee Relations Consultant serves as a trusted advisor to field managers, employees, and internal team members to provide guidance on a wide range of employee relations issues. The role is fast paced with a heavy focus on workplace investigations, case management and reporting. This role also leads several proactive employee relations initiatives in partnership with various HR functions that contribute to overall strategy of the department and the organization.
 

  • Leads complex workplace investigations related to employee claims of harassment, discrimination, and other high-risk issues to reach an effective resolution.
  • Works in conjunction with the Employee Relations Specialist to consult on matters that have been determined to require more in-depth review, investigation, and/or consultation.
  • Drafts well-written and thorough investigation-related documents and utilizes the designated case management tool for tracking.
  • Identify and report on employee relations common issues or trends.
  • Works in conjunction with the Employee Relations Specialist to consult on complex cases related to absence management and the ADA.
  • Partners with legal counsel during any employment related agency charge or legal matter.
  • Conduct presentations/ training to field managers on a wide range of topics like FMLA, ADA, PD, ect.. could be worth adding in there.
  • Leads proactive initiatives including C.A.R.E. with the goal of cultivating positive employee relations and high-quality working environments for our team partners.
  • Communicates with all levels of the organization, including executive leadership.
  • Serves as a role model, ambassador, and teacher of company values, vision, and standards of conduct.
  • Identify and mitigate risk by proposing strategies for effective resolution of employment matters.
  • In collaboration with HR Leadership, recommends and assists with writing and communicating HR policies and procedures.

The estimated salary for this position ranges from $50,000 to $94,000 yearly. Actual compensation will vary based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications. Geographic differentials may also apply depending on the position's location. There is no application deadline for this role; recruitment will remain open until the position is filled. 

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 3 years of experience in Human Resources required
  • 1 - 2 years of experience in Employee Relations required
  • HR Certification preferred
