Job description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Senior Territory Sales Manager to drive profitable premium growth across the Connecticut Market.
This is a Senior individual-contributor role with no direct reports, reporting to the Regional Sales Manager. This position is responsible for developing and strengthening relationships with independent agents, brokers, and distribution partners; identifying market growth opportunities; delivering product and sales training; and partnering with internal teams to support profitable business growth.  
The ideal candidates bring strong Property & Casualty insurance experience, a solid understanding of underwriting guidelines, and market dynamics, and established knowledge of the Connecticut insurance marketplace.
Candidates should reside in Connecticut, preferably within or near the Connecticut shoreline, and be comfortable traveling throughout the assigned territory.
This is a remote position.
Salary Range: $125,000 - $150,000 per year
What you will do:
Sales Growth & Market Expansion
  • Drive premium volume growth by identifying and executing strategic sales opportunities within the assigned territory.
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with agents, brokers and distribution partners to increase new business and expand existing relationships.
  • Partner with the Regional Sales Manager to execute and refine territory sales strategies aligned with revenue and profitability goals.  
  • Develop strategies to attract new business while maintaining strong retention within existing agency relationships.
  • Establish territory priorities and sales plans based on market opportunity, agency potential, and business objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to increase market penetration, agency engagement, and product utilization.
Product Training & Sales Enablement
  • Deliver product training to agents, brokers, and distribution partners to enhance product knowledge and sales effectiveness.
  • Conduct in-person and virtual training sessions, ensuring alignment with company sales initiatives and market trends.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and mentorship to improve partner engagement and sales performance.
  • Communicate product enhancements, underwriting updates, sales initiatives, and market development to agency partners.
Market Analysis & Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with agents, brokers, and key market stakeholders throughout Connecticut.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive activity, agency needs and market conditions.
  • Gather field feedback to help improve product, sales strategies, and the overall agency experience.
  • Provide market intelligence and strategic insights to the Regional Sales Manager and internal business partners.
  • Serve as a key liaison between the field and internal teams, sharing feedback to improve product offerings and customer experience.
Profitability & Compliance
  • Maintain underwriting profitability by ensuring sales align with company guidelines and risk assessment protocols.
  • Ensure all sales and marketing activities comply with state regulations and company policies.
  • Track and analyze sales data and performance metrics, reporting to the Regional Sales Manager regularly.
What you will bring:​​​​​​​
  • A bachelor’s degree in marketing, finance, business, Insurance, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent experience in P&C insurance experience.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience within the property & casualty insurance industry, preferably with a carrier.
  • 5+ years of experience in territory sales, agency development, business development or a related agent/broker-facing role.
  • Strong knowledge of P&C insurance products, underwriting guidelines, and sales strategies.
  • Established knowledge of the Connecticut P&C market and relationships within the independent agency/broker community strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills to engage agents, brokers, and key stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage administrative tasks, including preparing agendas, meeting notes, and marketing communications.
  • Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize efficiently.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
