Job description

We are expanding our Cloud Engineering Team and are looking for a dedicated Security Analyst to enhance the security posture of both our internal and external systems. This role is crucial in safeguarding our digital assets and ensuring the integrity of our services.

This is a remote position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Continuously monitor and investigate security breaches across organizational systems.
  • Identify and mitigate vulnerabilities within CorVel systems.
  • Stay updated with the latest IT security trends and best practices.
  • Generate detailed reports on security metrics, attempted attacks, and breaches.
  • Develop, review, and maintain comprehensive security incident response plans and playbooks.
  • Advise management and senior IT staff on security enhancements.
  • Perform security assessments, including vulnerability testing and risk analysis.
  • Promote and support the development of company-wide security best practices.
  • Participate in and support security audits.
  • Foster relationships with third-party security organizations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • In-depth understanding of security policies, compliance, and best practices.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivated, and capable of working effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to research and propose technical security solutions.
  • Proficiency with Azure Sentinel or similar SIEM products (preferred).
  • Advanced scripting skills in PowerShell and KQL (preferred).

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a security professional with a focus on developing security policies.
  • Extensive experience working in the Microsoft Defender environment.
  • Proven experience in vulnerability assessments and testing.
  • Experience in planning, communicating, and implementing security recommendations.
  • Experience in conducting or managing network penetration testing (preferred).
  • Previous experience in a security analyst role (preferred).
  • Experience working in a Security Operations Center (SOC) with a team of 5 or more (preferred).
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification (preferred).

PAY RANGE:

CorVel uses a market based approach to pay and our salary ranges may vary depending on your location.  Pay rates are established taking into account the following factors:  federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, the geographic location differential, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal employee equity, and market conditions.  Our ranges may be modified at any time.

For leveled roles (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.) new hires may be slotted into a different level, either up or down, based on assessment during interview process taking into consideration experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.  The level may impact the salary range and these adjustments would be clarified during the offer process.

Pay Range:  $70,276 – $116,942
