Remote risk adjustment coding is the process of reviewing and assigning medical codes to patient diagnoses and procedures from a remote location, usually at home. The purpose is to ensure that healthcare organizations accurately report the health status of their patients, which affects reimbursement from health plans. Coders use specialized knowledge of ICD-10-CM coding and risk adjustment models, such as HCC (Hierarchical Condition Category) coding, to capture all relevant chronic conditions. This position requires attention to detail, compliance with regulations, and strong analytical skills.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote risk adjustment coder?

To thrive as a Remote Risk Adjustment Coder, you need a solid understanding of medical coding, anatomy, and healthcare regulations, typically backed by a coding certification such as CPC, CRC, or CCS. Familiarity with coding software, electronic health record (EHR) systems, and risk adjustment models like HCC is essential. Attention to detail, critical thinking, and strong written communication are crucial soft skills for interpreting clinical documentation and ensuring coding accuracy. These skills and qualifications are vital to accurately capture patient risk, ensure compliance, and optimize reimbursement for healthcare organizations.

How does working remotely as a risk adjustment coder impact collaboration with healthcare teams and ongoing professional development?

As a remote Risk Adjustment Coder, you'll often collaborate with clinical staff, auditors, and other coders through secure digital platforms and regular virtual meetings. Job description

Position Overview

Global Life Mental Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our dynamic team. This full-time remote position is designed for professionals who are committed to fostering mental wellness in children and adolescents with developmental disabilities. As a vital member of our team, you will help clients navigate their unique challenges and improve their overall quality of life.

About the Organization

Global Life Mental Healthcare is a leading provider of mental health services, specializing in comprehensive youth and family support. Our mission is to empower primary caregivers and their children, providing tailored therapeutic interventions that address a wide array of behavioral and emotional challenges. Based in Hillsboro, Oregon, we pride ourselves on a strong culture of inclusivity, compassion, and support, contributing to positive outcomes for families across the state.

Work Environment

This role allows for a flexible and supportive remote work setting, where licensed therapists can provide both in-home and outpatient therapy sessions. With an emphasis on collaboration, therapists will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including educators, social workers, and family support specialists, ensuring a holistic approach to care. You will primarily engage with the youth in their natural environments, promoting comfort and familiarity that enhances therapeutic efficacy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct individual and group therapy sessions, either in-home or at the outpatient center, to address the emotional and behavioral needs of children and their families.
  • Implement evidence-based interventions focused on anger management, social skills development, and coping strategies to mitigate high-risk behaviors, such as self-injurious behaviors and physical aggression.
  • Assist caregivers in enhancing their decision-making capabilities, providing them with the tools to manage behavioral challenges in the home.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, ensuring compliance with all agency policies and state regulations.
  • Participate in monthly team meetings to discuss client progress and recommend necessary adjustments to treatment plans based on the latest therapeutic insights and data.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary clients served in this role are children and teenagers aged 3-20 who are experiencing developmental challenges and intellectual disabilities. Our therapists are tasked with forming meaningful connections with these young individuals, fostering a safe space for growth and exploration. By focusing on their unique needs, you will guide them through personal challenges, offering personalized strategies that promote resilience and self-confidence.

Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field is required.
  • An active and unrestricted LMFT license in Oregon is mandatory.
  • Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4-7 PM) is essential, with weekend availability considered a desirable asset.
Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience in providing positive behavior support, specifically in a therapeutic setting, is highly desirable.
  • A background in working with children with intellectual or developmental disabilities (I/DD) is a significant plus.
  • A valid driverโ€™s license and access to a registered vehicle for travel between session locations.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, as required by state regulations.
Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 to $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additionally, our comprehensive benefits package includes:

  • Dynamic and supportive work environment conducive to professional growth.
  • Group health coverage to ensure your well-being.
  • Annual paid time off to promote work-life balance.
  • Short and long-term disability coverage to safeguard your financial security.
  • 401K plan for your future savings.
  • Ongoing job training and opportunities for continuing education.
Career Growth Opportunities

At Global Life Mental Healthcare, we believe in nurturing the professional development of our team. You will have access to ongoing training programs and potential for advancement within the company as we expand our services and client base. We encourage innovation and welcome new ideas that enhance our practice and client care, creating pathways for leadership roles and specialized therapeutic practices.

Why Join Our Team
