Summary:

The Business Card Product Director has leadership responsibility for business card portfolio management including analytical evaluation, strategy development, program execution, and profit optimization.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • P&L responsibility for the Business Card portfolio
  • Responsible for analysis of the business credit card portfolio including identifying market trends, risks, and opportunities to drive profitable growth.
  • Reviews and modifies existing credit card product features and benefits to maximize profitability and meet customer needs in changing economy.
  • Evaluates product performance and recommend changes in the product or marketing strategy to optimize program performance.
  • Accountable for risk management, compliance and audit performance for area(s) of responsibility whether a supervisor, manager or individual contributor.
  • Partners with Marketing to ensure effective communication of credit card product to customers, optimizing marketing and improving portfolio metrics.
  • Oversees all tasks associated with new program development working closely with key business partners (i.e. Marketing, Sales Ops, Phone Bank, Risk, Legal, Compliance, etc.) to execute and promote the program on an ongoing basis.
  • Works closely with Risk Administration, Underwriting, Compliance, Legal, Ops, Phone Bank, and Enterprise Risk to ensure effective implementation of account origination and portfolio strategies.
  • Champions the unique nature of an unsecured credit product among peers to guard against one-size-fits all solutions to selling, lending, risk and collections.
  • Direct oversight of a complex set of credit rules and procedures to service a multitude of business liability structures from sole proprietors to mid-size corporations.
  • Establishes or works with management to develop effective controls and processes to ensure risks are measured, monitored and controlled and compliance requirements are adhered to on an on-going basis.
  • Adheres to bank policies and procedures and complies with legal and regulatory requirements.Maintains current knowledge of risk-related credit card changes that may impact assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Lead/coach; counsel; manage a function; responsible for hiring, terminations, salary adjustments and/or disciplinary actions; establishes/communicates group strategy.
  • As applicable, ensures staff is properly trained, provided with appropriate resources and motivated to adhere to risk management principles.
  • Negotiates business services contracts related to business card product.
  • Works directly with vendors to optimize Huntington experience/costs and find opportunities to improve customer experience.
  • Identifies trends in the market, forecasts patterns, researches the actions of competitors, and eventually formulates cohesive product strategies based on this research.
  • Drives the strategic product planning process and acts as a trusted advisor to the Consumer Finance Leadership team and relevant stakeholders during strategy.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of credit card related oversight and experience.
  • Experience working with other 3rd party credit card partners.
  • Demonstrated experience in product development, business case development, strategic planning, project management and tactical implementation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree
  • Experience with and understanding of First Data platforms.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills, adept at influencing stakeholders through intellect, interpersonal and negotiation skills; can quickly form strong relationships through a shared vision and mutual trust
  • Demonstrated ability to critically analyze situations and risks, determine paths of action, and make recommendations to remediate issues.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Understand the concept of materiality (i.e., knows when information is relevant), and possesses solid understanding of major revenue sources for the credit card and debit card business
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with level of comfort presenting at senior levels.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements as they pertain to aforementioned segment areas.
  • Understanding of systems used with First Data, Fiserv, Zoot etc.
