Job Description
The Preconstruction Sales Specialist supports the growth of T5's data center construction platform by assisting with client engagement, pursuit coordination, and early-stage preconstruction activities. This role works closely with sales leadership, estimating teams, and operations to help identify new opportunities, coordinate responses to client requests, and support project development for mission critical construction projects.
The position plays an important role in managing pursuit logistics, organizing RFP responses, and coordinating internal stakeholders to ensure proposals are delivered accurately and on schedule. The Preconstruction Client Sales Specialist also assistswith conceptual budgeting, market research, and industry relationship development to support successful project pursuits.
This role is ideal for a professional with construction or data center experience who is interested in developing deeper expertise in preconstruction, business development support, and the pursuit process within the mission critical construction sector.
Key responsibilities include:
Construction Sales & Client Engagement
  • Partner with sales leadership to research, identify, and track new data center opportunities.
  • Support client meetings, proposal interviews, and site tours, representing preconstruction and technical expertise.
  • Contribute to pipeline management and CRM updates to track pursuits and client relationships.
  • Build relationships with consultants, trade partners, and key industry stakeholders to expand our data center network.
  • Assist in developing conceptual and detailed budgets for data center projects ranging from 10MW to 500MW+.
  • Help prepare proposal materials, narratives, and technical responses for client pursuits.
  • Help coordinate industry event participation, marketing content, and pursuit strategies.

Preconstruction Support & RFP Coordination
  • Lead and coordinate internal teams through project development and response managing schedules, deliverables, and content from estimating, operations, safety, and design partners.
  • Participate in estimate reviews, value analysis, and constructability assessments during early design phases.
  • Manage proposal and technical response development by drafting narratives, gathering inputs, and ensuring compliance with client requirements.
  • Support procurement and trade partner engagement; review scopes and qualifications.
  • Coordinate with design teams and operations to align early cost and schedule assumptions with project delivery goals.
  • Assist in maintaining cost databases, benchmarking tools, and market pricing for MEP and mission critical systems.

Key Knowledge & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience
  • 3-6 years of experience in construction, preconstruction, estimating, project coordination, or business development support
  • Data center/mission critical or general construction background preferred
  • Experience supporting proposals, RFP responses, or client pursuits is a plus
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and stakeholders
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Experience with CRM systems and proposal management tools preferred
