Job description

Role:
As a member of the Systems Engineering Department, the Platform TT&C Systems Engineer will provide technical expertise for the Tracking, Telemetry and Command subsystem that provides a communication path between the satellite and the operations control center.
Tasks:
Depending on the job function, the Platform TT&C Systems Engineer will perform and participate in the following tasks and activities depending on the background and experience of the candidate:
  • Participate in the design of Platform TT&C systems that operate at various frequency bands
  • Perform system-level link budget analyses
  • Provide input to antenna scattering analyses and review results
  • Support systems engineering documentation including requirements specifications, statement of compliance, verification matrix and design descriptions
  • Prepare interface control documentation for TT&C subsystem interconnection with the other Platform subsystems Troubleshoot TT&C-related issues on integrated satellite and on Platform Engineering Model (FlatSat) test setups
  • Ensure inter-operability between Platform TT&C subsystem and satellite Payload
  • Contribute to overall communication concept of operations (ConOps)
  • Support various milestone reviews: EQSR, SRR, PDR and CDR either at Customer, MDA or subcontractor facilities

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong RF engineering background
  • Experience with communication subsystems including transceivers, couplers, filters & antennas
  • Experience with Communication standards and regulations including but not limited to ITU, CCSDS and ETSI

Complementary skills/knowledge:
  • Understanding of the space environment and communication satellites
  • Experience with satellite tracking and/or ranging
  • Demonstrated capability to efficiently work with little to no supervision
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills in English, knowledge of French will be evaluated favorably
  • Ability to lead and/or mentor junior members of the engineering team
