Job Description:

The Medical Billing Specialist will support full-cycle billing operations, ensuring accurate claim processing and timely reimbursement. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple systems, and comfort working in a performance-driven setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Confirm patient and insurance information to support accurate claim submission
  • Access and navigate payer portals to check claim status and updates
  • Review EOBs and remittance information to apply adjustments and identify issues
  • Track and follow up on outstanding claims to secure timely payments
  • Research denied or unpaid claims, correct errors, and resubmit as needed
  • Communicate with patients, providers, and payers to resolve billing inquiries
  • Document account activity thoroughly within internal systems
  • Adhere to established billing procedures and compliance standards (HIPAA)

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in medical billing or revenue cycle support
  • Knowledge of EOBs, claim workflows, and insurance follow-up processes
  • Experience working in a metrics-driven or high-volume environment
  • Strong technical skills with the ability to navigate multiple systems (EMR experience preferred, including Epic)
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong communication skills, including professional phone interactions
