As a Remote Retail Planogram Designer, you will frequently collaborate with in-store teams, merchandisers, and category managers through digital tools and regular virtual meetings. Communication is key to ensuring your designs are practical and align with store layouts, inventory levels, and sales goals. You may need to provide detailed planogram instructions, answer questions, and occasionally troubleshoot implementation issues remotely. These skills ensure optimal product placement, enhanced shopper experience, and increased sales for retail clients.

What is a Remote Retail Planogram Designer?

A Remote Retail Planogram Designer is a professional who creates visual diagrams, or planograms, that outline the placement of products on shelves in retail stores, but works remotely rather than on-site. These designers use specialized software to optimize product arrangement for maximum sales and customer convenience, collaborating with retailers and brands online or via virtual meetings. Their work helps stores improve product visibility, inventory management, and overall shopping experience, all while allowing the designer to work from any location.

Job description

About THINKINK
THINKINK is a specialist B2B communications agency working with technology companies in the aviation, loyalty, payments, retail, sustainability and travel sectors. We help B2B companies build and improve visibility, strengthen market positioning and support commercial growth through integrated communications, media relations, research and content programs. Clients come to us to solve business problems through smart strategy, compelling storytelling and thoughtful design.
Design at THINKINK
Design is central to how we help clients communicate complex ideas. Whether we're launching a travel payments company, producing research that influences an industry or creating executive thought leadership, design helps turn strategy into something people understand, remember and act on. You'll have a seat at the table from the beginning of projects, not simply when it's time to "make it look good." We expect this role to contribute ideas, challenge assumptions and help shape the work alongside other team members.
The Role
We're looking for a Lead Creative Designer who combines strategic thinking with exceptional creative execution. In this role, you will lead creative from concept to delivery across multiple B2B client accounts. This is a hands-on, senior position: you are the creative strategy in the room with the client and the person executing behind the scenes. You won't be handing direction down to a senior designer to interpret, and you won't be waiting for someone to translate your work for web, social or digital; you think and build natively in those channels.
You'll work directly with clients, writers, strategists, developers and PR professionals, leading creative discussions, presenting your ideas and producing outstanding design work across websites, social media, reports, presentations, campaigns and brand identities. You're equally comfortable discussing website user journeys with a developer, presenting creative concepts to a client, refining information hierarchy with a content strategist or opening Figma to design the solution and get the work shipped on deadline.
Responsibilities
Creative Strategy & Direction
  • Develop and own visual brand and creative strategy for THINKINK clients and the THINKINK brand
  • Translate client business, communications and campaign goals into clear creative concepts and direction
  • Set the creative vision for accounts and carry visual consistency through every stage of design and production
  • Present, explain and defend creative strategy and concepts directly to clients

Hands-On Design Execution
  • Personally execute high-quality design across digital campaigns, social, web, email, presentations and brand systems
  • Produce high-quality reports, eBooks, white papers and similar B2B marketing assets
  • Design event graphics, exhibition materials and other event-specific assets
  • Build provocative, creative concepts for B2B social media and digital marketing, without being boring
  • Create and evolve visual brand guides for clients (logo, typography, color, brand style)
  • Support client website redesigns with design that's built for the web, not adapted to it
  • Produce advanced, on-brand presentations that pair messaging with strong visual design
  • Edit and retouch images, documents and assets for digital and, where needed, print

Digital-First Delivery
  • Design natively for web, social, email and digital campaigns, working within responsive and digital constraints
  • Collaborate directly with developers and digital teams without needing work to be translated between disciplines
  • Use AI-assisted tools to speed up concepting, iteration and production across channels, setting the standard for how the team adopts them
  • Stay current on digital design, motion and typography trends and bring them to client work

Client & Account Partnership
  • Act as the senior creative lead in client relationships and meetings
  • Partner with account managers and leadership to scope creative work and manage client expectations
  • Balance feedback from clients and internal teams to deliver brilliant creative and strong results

Team Collaboration
  • Work across PR, content, digital, social and research functions to align creative with broader client programs
  • Pick up projects mid-stream as needed and carry brand consistency through to delivery
  • Help raise the creative bar and creative processes across the agency as it grows

What We're Looking For
You understand that great design starts with asking the right questions, not opening design software.
You naturally think about audience, messaging, user experience and business objectives before considering colors, typography or layout. You're curious, collaborative and commercially aware. You know when to challenge a brief, when to defend a creative recommendation and when to adapt your approach based on client feedback.
You enjoy working in a fast-paced agency environment where every day is different, priorities often shift depending on clients' changing needs, and you'll move between multiple brands and industries in the same week or even day.
What You'll Bring
  • 8+ years in design, with clear progression to a lead, Associate Creative Director or Creative Director level, including agency client-service experience (PR, advertising or marketing)
  • Proven track record in owning creative strategy and presenting it directly to clients
  • A digital-first portfolio: B2B work designed natively for web, social, email and digital campaigns
  • Experience leading creative workstreams independently - directing and executing, not working under a senior designer
  • Expert across Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Strong working command of Figma
  • Fluency with generative AI design tools (image, video and copy) and the ability to build AI-assisted creative workflows that accelerate concepting and production without sacrificing craft
  • Advanced presentation design skills in Microsoft PowerPoint and Google Slides
  • Excellent communication and people skills, and confidence as the senior creative in front of clients
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and follow-through under tight timelines
  • Comfortable working remotely and in a small, distributed team

Ideal Experience
  • B2B technology experience, especially in aviation, travel, fintech/payments, loyalty, retail or sustainability
  • Motion design, animation or video editing
  • Brand identity and design-system development
  • Print and production experience
  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS
  • Degree in Graphic Design or a related field

Why THINKINK?
You'll have the opportunity to shape the creative direction for THINKINK and for our global B2B clients while working alongside an experienced team of strategists, writers, PR professionals and researchers. We believe our best work comes from collaboration, curiosity and giving talented people the freedom to do what they do best. We're remote-first with colleagues and clients across North America, Europe and Australia.
Benefits
  • Fully remote work environment
  • Flexible vacation and personal time policy
  • Comprehensive medical, dental and vision insurance
  • Membership to WeWork co-working spaces
  • Professional development and continuing education support.
  • Opportunity to work with B2B brands in aviation, travel, loyalty, sustainability, fintech and retail
