Remote Retail Finance information

What is remote retail finance?

Remote retail finance refers to financial services and operations within the retail sector that can be managed or delivered remotely, often through digital platforms. Professionals in this field may handle tasks such as budgeting, financial analysis, invoicing, and customer financing options, all without needing to be physically present in a retail location. The role usually requires strong analytical skills, familiarity with financial software, and the ability to communicate effectively with both internal teams and external clients online. Remote retail finance enables businesses to streamline operations, reduce costs, and adapt to the increasing trend of remote work environments.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote retail finance professional?

To thrive in Remote Retail Finance, you need a strong foundation in financial analysis, retail accounting, and business acumen, usually supported by a degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. Proficiency in financial software such as SAP, QuickBooks, or Oracle, and experience with data analysis tools like Excel or Tableau, are typically required. Excellent communication, self-motivation, and time-management skills help you collaborate effectively and manage tasks independently in a remote environment. These skills are crucial to ensuring accurate financial management, supporting business decisions, and maintaining operational efficiency from a distance.

How does a remote retail finance professional typically collaborate with in-store teams to ensure accurate financial reporting?

Remote Retail Finance professionals frequently work closely with in-store teams through regular virtual meetings, shared financial software, and timely email or chat communications. They assist store managers in understanding financial reports, budgets, and key performance indicators, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with company policies. Clear communication and strong relationship-building skills are essential, as remote finance professionals often troubleshoot discrepancies or provide training on financial processes to on-site staff. This collaborative approach helps maintain alignment between financial goals and store operations, even across different locations.

What you'll do at Cascade:

Serve the American Dream Through Attainable Home Ownership.

Position Overview

As a Licensed Mortgage Loan Officer at Cascade, you will originate purchase-focused manufactured housing loans through an established nationwide network of manufactured home retailers and referred borrowers. Unlike many traditional mortgage roles, this position is supported by dedicated Business Development Managers, a strong retailer referral platform, and one of the broadest manufactured housing product mixes in the industry, including chattel/home-only, land-home, non-QM, GSE, FHA, and VA programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Originate mortgage loans from Cascade's retailer referral network and referred borrower pipeline.
  • Consult with borrowers to evaluate needs, qualifications, loan structure, and best available product options.
  • Build strong working relationships with manufactured home retailers, Business Development Managers, and internal operations partners.
  • Drive application-to-submission and submission-to-closing conversion through proactive borrower and retailer follow-up.
  • Partner with Production Associates, Processing, Underwriting, Closing, and Funding teams to move loans efficiently through the process.
  • Maintain pipeline discipline, accurate system updates, and timely completion of compliance, disclosure, redisclosure, and regulatory requirements.
  • Deliver an exceptional borrower and retailer experience through clear communication, urgency, and ownership.

What you will need to join Cascade

  • Active NMLS license required.
  • Minimum 2+ years of mortgage loan origination experience preferred.
  • Experience with purchase transactions, manufactured housing, chattel/home-only, land-home, FHA, VA, GSE, or non-QM products strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with referral partners, retailers, dealers, builders, or other third-party referral sources preferred.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume pipeline while maintaining strong compliance, disclosure, and customer communication standards.
  • Proven track record of consultative sales, borrower follow-up, and converting referred leads into submitted/closed loans.

Training Support

Cascade provides structured onboarding, product training, sales leadership support, compliance resources, and cross-functional partnership with Operations to help experienced Loan Officers ramp quickly and succeed in our manufactured housing lending model.

  • Comprehensive onboarding program designed to provide a strong foundation in mortgage lending, loan processes, systems, and company policies.
  • Dedicated training and mentorship from experienced Sales Leaders.
  • Hands-on learning opportunities focused on loan pipeline management, borrower communication, document collection, compliance requirements, and closing processes.
  • Training on loan origination systems (LOS), customer relationship management (CRM) tools, and other technology platforms used to support borrowers throughout the lending process.
  • Ongoing coaching and feedback to support professional growth and strengthen customer service, organizational, and mortgage industry knowledge.
  • Access to compliance and regulatory training to ensure understanding of disclosure requirements, lending regulations, and company best practices.
  • Opportunities for career advancement and continued learning within the Sales and Mortgage Operations organizations.

Compensation

  • Hourly base pay plus tiered monthly production incentive opportunity.
