Job description

Where you'll work:
Our hybrid workplace model offers the option to work remote or occasionally in one of our offices.
How you'll contribute:
As a Senior Annuity Product Consultant, you'll be responsible for supporting the development of new annuity products and in-force annuity initiatives. In this dynamic role, the level of involvement for any initiative will vary from one component of the initiative to its entirety. The Product Consultant represents Annuity Product Development on cross-company project teams in the development of new individual annuity products, product enhancements, and management of the annuity in-force block.
The Product Consultant must partner closely with other areas of the Company to ensure successful and timely implementation of product deliverables. The Product Consultant must manage day-to-day new product and enhancement issues. This individual will also manage the existing block of in-force annuity business and all ad-hoc annuity product requests.
In this role, you'll get to:
  • Partner with Distribution and key partners to develop innovative product offerings that grow the annuity business and expand our presence in the market.
  • Lead cross-functional working sessions to drive design and pricing resulting in detailed product specifications.
  • Partner with Actuarial to support the design and pricing of solutions aligning with our strategy.
  • Represent Product as a subject matter expert for all products and riders currently and previously sold.
  • Utilize expertise to provide support to internal and external partners related to product mechanics, positioning, and consumer profile.
  • Draft written requirements for various new product initiatives, product changes/enhancements, and administrative changes/corrections.
  • Assist in the brainstorming and researching of new product concepts and enhancements to our existing products.
  • Actively participate in the contract drafting process and partner with members of Contracts and Filing.
  • Manage and support annual prospectus review.
  • Support the development and review of marketing collateral.
  • Partner cross-functionally to develop and assist with training during implementation.
  • Build partnerships with key stakeholders, such as Legal, Compliance, Marketing, Operations, and Distribution.
  • Work on ad-hoc Product Development projects.
  • Establish relationships and credibility across the business to effectively communicate product updates to all levels of the organization.

We're looking for people who have:
  • A Bachelor's degree (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5+ years of annuity product development experience or related experience in annuities.
  • Adaptable at working as part of a dynamic team, working independently and with shifting responsibilities.
  • Excellent influencing, organizational, facilitation, written/verbal communication, and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of annuity products and the annuity industry.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to gain consensus and cultivate strategic internal relationships.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, financial acumen, and business judgment
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage several dissimilar projects and prioritize appropriately.
