Job Description
Department of Emergency Medicine has multiple outstanding opportunities for Research Study Assistant to join their team.
About this Opportunity:
Report to Research Coordinator 4, the Research Study Assistant will coordinate and perform work in support of clinical and health services research at Harborview Medical Center and UWMC. Projects will cover a wide range of clinical pathways with a focus on out of hospital cardiac arrest, traumatic injuries, strokes, sepsis, and opioids. The responsibilities of this role, including participant recruitment, sample processing and study documentation, are essential to maintaining grant compliance. The research study assistant will work in a team environment that includes faculty, fellows, medical students, and other key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Screen and appropriately enroll in eligible subjects on various protocols. (20%)
  • Assist with development and maintenance of research databases. (20%)
  • Complete data entry for study subjects. (20%)
  • Gather, record, organize, transcribe, and verify the accuracy of research study data. (20%)
  • Process bio specimens per lab guidelines. (10%)
  • Perform related duties as required. (10%)

Required Qualifications:

Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
Minimum Qualification

  • Two years of college-level course work in a relevant academic area AND one year of appropriate experience OR equivalent education/experience.
  • Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related academic area
  • Prior healthcare experience
  • Proficiency in REDCap
  • Experience with EFIC studies
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Well-honed organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines
  • Ability to work with colleagues in a way that enhances collaboration and team building
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
