Job description

We are seeking an experienced Price Analyst II with 3-5+ years of experience in pricing analysis, market research, and strategic pricing initiatives. This mid-level role focuses on developing pricing strategies, conducting advanced market analysis, and supporting revenue optimization efforts. The ideal candidate demonstrates proven analytical expertise, strong business acumen, and the ability to translate complex pricing data into actionable business insights. Experience in Workers' Compensation pricing and analysis is required. This role is ideal for a strategic, data-driven finance professional, who values accuracy, as well as quality over quantity, and thrives in environments that demand insightful analysis and independent ownership.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive analyses to support strategic pricing decisions
  • Lead competitive intelligence initiatives and market positioning analysis
  • Create and maintain sophisticated pricing models including elasticity, optimization, and profitability models
  • Conduct advanced statistical analysis of pricing performance and market trends
  • Design and analyze price testing strategies, including A/B tests and market experiments
  • Partner with Sales Executives to develop competitive pricing strategies for new business opportunities and RFP responses
  • Collaborate with Account Managers on customer renewal contract negotiations, providing pricing analysis and competitive market benchmarking
  • Work closely with legal teams to review and refine contract pricing terms, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation
  • Lead periodic pricing model analysis and validation to maintain alignment with evolving product offerings and industry standards
  • Partner extensively with product leaders and managers to understand product roadmaps, cost structures, and competitive positioning
  • Perform customer lifetime value analysis and segmentation-based pricing recommendations
  • Lead pricing impact assessments for product launches, promotions, and market changes
  • Monitor and analyze pricing performance metrics, identifying opportunities for revenue optimization
  • Develop pricing dashboards and automated reporting systems for stakeholders
  • Lead cross-functional pricing projects and coordinate with multiple business units
  • Support budget and forecast development with pricing assumptions and scenario analysis
  • Mentor junior analysts and provide guidance on pricing methodologies and best practices
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies
  • Additional duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Experience with systems, platforms, and databases related to insurance industry and workers' compensation claims management
  • Proven experience with pricing strategies in workers' compensation services
  • Deep understanding of workers' compensation market dynamics, regulatory environment, and managed care principles
  • Strong statistical quantitative analysis skills and experience with pricing model development
  • Excel expertise: Advanced modeling, VBA, macros, and complex financial/pricing functions
  • Power BI proficiency: Able to create dashboards, develop visualizations, and perform advanced analytics
  • Salesforce CPQ proficiency: Experienced in pricing configuration, quote generation, and approval workflows
  • Familiarity with SQL data lookups and database query fundamentals
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of market dynamics
  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to communicate complex analyses to senior management
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and work collaboratively across functions
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM analytics and reporting is highly preferred

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Economics, or related field from an accredited institution
  • 3-5+ years of experience in pricing analysis, market research, or revenue management, in workers' compensation is required
  • Background in workers' compensation claims, medical management, or disability services is a plus

PAY RANGE

CorVel uses a market-based approach to pay and our salary ranges may vary depending on your location. Pay rates are established taking into account the following factors: federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, the geographic location differential, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal employee equity, and market conditions. Our ranges may be modified at any time.

For leveled roles (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.) new hires may be slotted into a different level, either up or down, based on assessment during interview process taking into consideration experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role. The level may impact the salary range, and these adjustments would be clarified during the offer process.

Pay Range: $73,345 – $113,247
