Job description

14433 - Renewable Energy Commissioning Manager (onsite, remote option) - Juno Beach, FL / MO, ND
Start Date: ASAP
Type: Temporary Project
Estimated Duration: 12+ months with possible extensions
Work Setting: Onsite and Remote. Travel to different sites.
Only candidates able to relocate as required should apply to avoid removal from future consideration.
Required:
Experience with electrical construction and commissioning means and methods knowledge including NEC and NFPA
Experience with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) integration and troubleshooting
Experience with E&I controls and instrumentation installation, startup and troubleshooting
Experience with protection and controls implementation and troubleshooting
Experience with inverter operation and communications startup and troubleshooting
Experience with Battery Energy Storage System operation and troubleshooting
Experience with renewable energy systems (solar, wind, and battery storage) commissioning and startup
Experience with drawing review and quality control inspection
Experience with progress reporting
Experience with Outlook, PDF editing, Word, Excel, document control systems, and PowerPoint
Experience with management of third parties, suppliers, EPC contractors, and OEM startup teams
Experience with management of direct report team members and multi-site coordination
Experience with schedule and planning
Preferred:
Experience in on-site project support for renewable power generation project construction startup and commissioning (5+ years)
Experience working for an EPC in renewable power generation project construction startup and commissioning (3+ years)
Responsibilities:
Oversee and ensure high-quality execution of commissioning, startup, and operational turnover activities across renewable energy projects (wind, solar, battery storage)
Coordinate and manage EPC contractors, OEM startup teams, third-party technicians, and operations personnel during commissioning phases
Ensure compliance with safety policies, project specifications, codes (NEC/NFPA), and contractual obligations including PPA and GIA requirements
Ensure project reliability at operational turnover with minimal downtime during initial operations
Manage project schedules, staffing, reporting, and documentation across multiple sites
Provide subject matter expertise and input into strategic planning for safety, manpower, and quality improvement
Interface with safety, engineering, and quality control teams to ensure alignment across project execution
Oversee NextEra commissioning personnel across multiple sites to ensure contractual deliverables are met
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
