What is a remote rendering?

A Remote Rendering job involves processing and visualizing complex 3D graphics on powerful cloud-based servers rather than local devices. This allows for high-quality rendering of models, simulations, and virtual environments without requiring high-end hardware on the user's end. Professionals in this field work on optimizing rendering pipelines, ensuring low-latency streaming, and integrating rendering solutions into applications such as gaming, architecture, and engineering.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in remote rendering?

To excel in a Remote Rendering role, you need expertise in 3D rendering pipelines, computer graphics principles, and networked application development, commonly backed by a degree in computer science, graphics, or a related field. Familiarity with tools like Unreal Engine, Unity, NVIDIA CloudXR, and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is typically required, along with relevant certifications in cloud computing or graphics technologies. Strong problem-solving abilities, clear communication, and the ability to collaborate remotely make candidates stand out in this position. These skills ensure high-quality, real-time graphics experiences are efficiently delivered to users over networks, meeting client and project demands.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working in remote rendering?

One of the main challenges in remote rendering is optimizing performance to deliver high-quality graphics with minimal latency, especially when supporting diverse devices and varying network conditions. Professionals often need to troubleshoot hardware compatibility issues and ensure secure, seamless integration with virtual or cloud-based environments. Collaboration is frequently remote, requiring clear communication and coordination with software engineers, designers, and IT teams. Adapting quickly to new rendering technologies and cloud platforms is also a key part of the role, helping teams stay ahead in this rapidly evolving field.

While travel requirements vary by role, periodic travel may be required to support business objectives, team collaboration, customer engagements, training, and company events. Candidates should be able and willing to travel as needed to fulfill the responsibilities of the role.
About the team and what we'll build together
The Marketing Operations team is Kobie's campaign execution engine - delivering outbound loyalty communications for some of the world's most recognized brands. Organized into three pillars (Campaign Management, Development, and Quality Assurance), the team builds and deploys high-volume, personalized email campaigns that reach millions of loyalty members. As a Marketing Ops Developer, you'll sit at the heart of that delivery - owning the HTML and journey development that brings each campaign to life. You'll work closely with Campaign Managers, QA Analysts, and client teams to ensure every send is accurate, on-brand, and on time.
How you will make an impact
As a Marketing Ops Developer, you own the technical execution of campaigns from build through deployment. You'll work across two core areas:
HTML Email Development
  • Develop and maintain HTML/CSS email templates - ensuring accurate rendering across devices, email clients, and platforms
  • Build reusable modular components and adapt client-specific templates to campaign requirements
  • Test email rendering across clients and devices using tools such as Litmus or Email on Acid

Journey & Campaign Development
  • Build and deploy outbound campaigns (primarily email) in Kobie-hosted platforms and client campaign management systems including Salesforce Marketing Cloud
  • Configure journey logic, audience segmentation, targeting rules, and suppression lists per campaign specifications
  • Implement dynamic content, personalization tokens, and promotional offer logic according to strategy requirements
  • Own the final deployment step for all assigned campaigns - ensuring accuracy and on-time delivery

Execution & Collaboration
  • Execute A/B and multivariate (MVT) test configurations according to defined test plans
  • Coordinate asset handoffs with Campaign Managers and content partners; flag dependency gaps proactively
  • Document execution best practices and maintain build standards within the Development pillar
  • Follow platform tooling standards and governance guidelines established by Campaign Management

At the end of the first year, success means: campaigns build accurately and on schedule, builds consistently pass QA with minimal rework, and platform standards and SOPs are followed without prompting
What you need to be successful
Required
  • 1-3 years of experience in email development, marketing operations, or digital campaign execution
  • Hands-on experience with HTML and CSS for email, including cross-client rendering
  • Experience with at least one enterprise campaign platform - Salesforce Marketing Cloud preferred
  • Foundational understanding of journey orchestration - able to build single and multi-step automated flows, triggered sends, and entry/exit criteria within a campaign platform
  • Familiarity with campaign automation concepts: event-based triggers, lifecycle programs, re-engagement flows, and scheduled vs. triggered deployment
  • Understanding of A/B and MVT testing mechanics - able to configure test variants, split audiences, and execute test sends according to a defined test plan
  • Understanding of audience segmentation, targeting logic, and data-driven personalization
  • Strong attention to detail; proactive about catching discrepancies before campaigns go to QA
  • Clear communicator - able to flag issues and ask the right questions before builds begin
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Preferred
  • Experience with Litmus, Email on Acid, or equivalent rendering test tools
  • Familiarity with AMPScript, SQL, or other scripting/query languages used in campaign platforms
  • Experience with additional ESPs such as Adobe Campaign, Braze, Iterable, or Marketo
  • Knowledge of dynamic content and conditional content logic within campaign platforms
  • Exposure to multi-channel or cross-channel campaign orchestration (email + SMS, push, or direct mail)
  • Experience using project/workflow management tools such as Workfront or Jira
