Clinical Pharmacy Specialist, Oncology

Join our Shields team today! Shields Health Solutions is redefining patient care through health-system integrated specialty pharmacy. We're hiring an Ambulatory Oncology Clinical Pharmacy Specialist who will play a hands-on role in elevating patient care at a nationally recognized Academic Medical Center. In this dynamic, patient‑centered position, you'll build meaningful relationships with patients and providers while delivering high‑quality medication management. You'll work remotely, collaborating directly with care teams and practicing under a Collaborative Practice Agreement (CPA) to conduct virtual patient assessments, order and monitor evidence-based treatment plans, optimize therapy, and resolve medication-related problems.

Location: Remote (Role supports a clinic in California)

Salary: An employee in this position who performs the job duties in California can expect a salary rate between $145,000 and $180,000 (Hourly Equivalent: Approximately $69.71 - $85.54 per hour, based on a 40-hour workweek.) plus bonus pursuant to the terms of an any bonus plan if applicable. The actual salary will depend on experience, geographic location, and other factors permitted by law.

An employee in this position who performs the job duties in any other state can expect a salary rate between $127,000 and $180,000 (Hourly Equivalent: Approximately $61.06 - $85.54 per hour, based on a 40-hour workweek.) plus bonus pursuant to the terms of an any bonus plan if applicable. The actual salary will depend on experience, geographic location, and other factors permitted by law.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide comprehensive medication management, including reconciliation, dose optimization, adherence support, and drug‑level assessments aligned with evidence‑based standards.
  • Partner with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary teams to order individualized care plans under a CPA and promote seamless medication coordination.
  • Monitor therapy effectiveness and safety, identify optimization and intervene as appropriate.
  • Support quality‑improvement and REMS initiatives.
  • Provide recommendations to operations by supporting teammates as needed with complex prior authorizations, improving workflows, educating patients, and maintaining ongoing clinical development.

What You Need:

  • Hold a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
  • Must be licensed pharmacist in California
  • Candidate must meet one of the following qualifications:
    • Completion of a PGY2 Oncology Residency
    • Completion of PGY1 Ambulatory Care Residency and at least 3 years of experience as a clinical oncology pharmacist
    • Have at least 3 years of experience as a clinical pharmacist in oncology, including 1 year practicing under a Collaborative Practice Agreement (CPA)
  • Strong communication, organization, and tech skills
