  • Configure and execute Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) simulations using Opal-RT and Speedgoat platforms.
  • Assist in equipment selection for HIL testing setups.
  • Design and implement automated test scripts and reporting tools to validate control systems under various grid conditions.
  • Simulate and analyze system performance under diverse scenarios, including ERCOT grid requirements and IEEE 2800 compliance.
  • Provide technical guidance to other controls engineers on running tests and interpreting results.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure models and tests align with project objectives and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain documentation of models, test procedures, and compliance reports.
  • Other duties as required by management.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in control systems modeling and simulation.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink for dynamic system modeling.
  • Hands-on experience with Opal-RT and Speedgoat platforms for HIL testing.
  • Strong understanding of power systems, grid interconnection standards, and control theory.
  • Familiarity with ERCOT requirements and IEEE 2800 standards.
  • Experience developing automated test frameworks and generating reports.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for automation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
