University of Washington Medical Center-Montlake has an outstanding opportunity for an experienced oncology nurse to work on 8NE's ACE Outpatient clinic.
WORK SCHEDULE
  • 100% FTE
  • Monday - Friday, 8 hour variable shifts

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
8NE/Blood Marrow Transplant/Oncology, known as the Fred Hutch Cancer Center hospital within a hospital, is 20-bed unit for patients undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplant (bone marrow, peripheral or cord blood transplant) and immunotherapy. The unit also has a 6 bed clinic to handle outpatient symptom management and outpatient infusion.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Will fill the break RN role as needed in the clinic
  • Work closely with our APP and leadership team from 8NE and Fred Hutch to create a cohesive program across both campuses
  • Performs specific leadership functions related to clinical practice, education and/or management as delegated by and in collaboration with the Nurse Manager
  • Assumes staff assignments and preceptor responsibility
  • Provides leadership and support for clinic that promote delivery of quality nursing care, effective problem solving and communication, and continued professional development for self and others

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN); applicable experience may substitute for education.
  • Charge nurse experience, preceptor experience and/or leadership experience
  • Passionate about program development and education
  • Strong leadership and clinical skills with the ability to manage complex care coordination
  • Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Washington
  • Current or recent Oncology nursing experience in an outpatient setting
  • ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate
